“I got a Trane A/C until about 4 years ago from Ellington Air. I also got the $14/mo service contract, which turned out to be a good decision as the Trane A/C unit has had constant problems. I've found the repair technitians at Ellington to be capable, honest, and responsive. Also, Ellington can often offer same-day.service. My complaint is with the manufacturer of our unit, Trane, not Ellington. For example, we just learned that the main circuit board in our Trane system has failed for the SECOND time. It's roughly a $1,000 item, mostly but not completely covered by the warranty and service plan. To have failed twice, I've got to conclude these boards are not well designed. I'd note that none of our other appliances, some of which are several years old, has failed during the 4 years we had our Trane A/C unit. I got a response to my post from Ellington noting Ellington sells other brands, which I hadn't realized. Since my complaint was about Trane, not Ellington, I changed my rating of Ellington to 4 stars. Just avoid buying a Trane A/C system from anyone.“
