I'm super impressed with Dr. Jonathan Lam. I'm 52. I saw Dr. Lam for a consultation for RLE (Refractive Lens Exchange). I've had 3 consultations at other Ophthamologists prior to my appointment with Dr. Lam. I'm too old for Lasik and I was not a candidate for Lasik even from my consultations like 3 to 5 years ago as I was told my Cornea is too thin for Lasik. I wish someone had told me about ICL then. Unlike other Ophthamologists in the area from Broward to Palm Beach, every Ophthalmologist would love to take my money and allow me to undergo the RLE procedure. Since this will be an elective surgery as I do not have cataract, it will be self payment of a range from $11K to $14.5K. Dr. Lam gave me his honest and professional recommendations that reflect his high level of integrity and ethics, much much higher than most other MDs. Dr. Lam could have saved his time and just go with what I came in to do - a Refractive Surgery - and just be helping me to choose which lens and which brands to consider. Instead he recommended me a totally different procedure that I was not aware of. He recommended ICL as it is less invasive (instead of removing my natural lenses like RLE, ICL is to implant artificial lenses over my own lenses), reversible and has much lower risk and less complaints statistically. ICL vs RLE, Dr. Lam would have made a few thousands more to sell me the RLE procedure, but instead he bases his judgment and recommendations of ICL for me on my overall wellbeing, my age, my conditions (myopia, astigmatism and Presbyopia)!! His ethical practice has earned my trust and business. After 4 consultations (these are some lengthy testings and analysis), I'm going to stick with Dr. Lam. I'm so grateful that I found him. Having a doctor that is knowledgeable, experienced, skilled, and passionate about his specialty of course is great, but in addition to all of these, Dr. Lam is also courteous, professional, patient, communicative, and highly ethical. Dr. Lam so patiently explained to me what is ICL and why ICL, he also made time to answer all my questions about the few different multifocal lenses for RLE that I came in with. The waiting room is busy and I totally understand the reason why people choose to come here. I waited for about 10 mins and it is not unreasonable. I will totally return for ALL of my optical and ophthalmological needs. I highly recommend Dr. Lam. If I were to give Dr. Lam an award, it will be "An Exemplary Integrity award" - only wish more medical providers carry the similar standard of integrity like Dr. Lam.

We are so grateful to Florida Eye Microsurgical Institute, in particular, Dr. Friedman and his team. We already were aware of Dr. Friedman’s excellent clinical knowledge and pediatric skills. After having been referred to Dr. Friedman by our Pediatrician, he emphasized the superior reputation that Dr. Friedman had nationally and among his local peers. Once Dr. Friedman recommended surgery for a fairly rare condition, his surgical coordinator, Becky, worked beyond our expectations of coordinating his care and surgery appointment. She kept us updated throughout the process. Again the compassionate care received by Dr. Friedman’s team was a comfort and we felt our newborn baby was in the best of care.
