I recently left a review for K2 Design. The review included 1 star and nothing else. After some thought, I feel obligated to leave another review. It is my opinion that K2 Design is not a professional or decent business. It is my opinion that they make promises they do not keep. It is my opinion that K2 takes an exorbitant amount of time to complete a job. It is my opinion that K2 Design does not listen to their clients. It is my opinion that if I had to choose another design firm I would not choose K2. Again, I speak for my self and no one else. These are my opinions.
THE WORST!! MINUS 5 Stars! I thought that I would be "savvy", save time and hire K2 Designs to ensure that the updates made to my home were the best. $8k later for 2 guest bedrooms with cheap vinyl flooring. Upon delivery, TAYLOR CARPET ONE installers showed me the thin vinyl and said themselves that they didn't feel comfortable installing it. (I've since voiced my dissatisfaction to them- mums the word since she didn't purchase it from them.) God only knows which cheap Chinese website she ordered this flooring from. She has yet to answer the question of manufacturer or company that this is purchased from so I'm guessing that's where she got it. At installation I called Jenny Provost, President/Owner of K2Designs and relayed my dissatisfaction with the quality. She refused to give me a restocking fee as I'd requested numerous times and kept the installers in an actual "sit in" at my house on NYE and persisted until I finally gave in and let them install it. (At that point we were gone from the house. Talk about an awkward situation having strangers sitting at your home!) BIG MISTAKE! NO GUARANTEE, NO NOTHING. Long story short, do NOT USE HER AND IF YOU DO, DO NOT LET HER PUSH YOU INTO A CORNER LIKE SHE DID ME! My error was not booting her and the installers from my house as my attorney told me. He knew of her from other calls from his clients that have had run in's with her as well! TAKE NOTE! With an initial check by TAYLOR CARPET ONE, on December 4 to ensure an accurate installation estimate, I was shocked to have to point out a transition of at least an inch. This extreme transition wouldn't be acceptable in any home as it creates a trip hazard not to mention looks bad. To keep you up to date, the flooring that I chose was on a piece of board to make it look thicker when viewed at K2Design. The actual vinyl is very thin so companies selling or installing vinyl should be well aware of this issue when replacing padding/carpet for vinyl. This tidbit was left out until the day of installation. K2Design estimated an additional $1800 in underlay to minimize the transition. When I refused that amount, she came back to me with only $1799 and had the gall to say that it was even cheaper than she thought! ONE DOLLAR! This is no joke nor an exaggeration. She's deceitful and she will blame anything that goes wrong on her customer. Watch, if she responds, she will be sure to insinuate that it was all my fault. Even though I had very much voiced my dislike and concerns, instead of biting the bullet and restocking the flooring as an ethical business person should have done... she'll be sure to make this my fault. She'll even end her remark with a passive aggressive statement... (she just can't help herself). Kharma has a way of catching up to people like her and social media makes it come around a lot faster! If that hasn't turned you off... she continue's to withhold wallpaper that I've paid for in full. Umm... ya, that's illegal. Adding insult to injury, but just proving my initial review accurate, after my vanity was installed everything went "radio silent". So, I inquired with their install manager, Adam, when they'd be back to take final measurements for the granite counter that I'd ordered. He told me that Jenny had cancelled the granite after holding my deposit for months! No reason, no excuse, but out of pure maliciousness. (It's granite that is on her showroom floor with the cabinet I purchased from her, so it's not like they quit making it.) **This will be taking a legal turn as I have yet to receive my money back that she's been holding onto for months. Save yourself this headache and go elsewhere... There just has to be better and more honest designers.
The absolute worst experience I have had with a contractor. We contracted in May 2018 for completion in August. In September they called us and told us they had miscalculated the amount of tile we needed for our job. We had to pick another tile since the tile was going to be applied I. Two weeks. Turned out they had never ordered the tile in the first place. The custom cabinets were ordered in the wrong color. It took them 6 and half months, countless phone calls, emails to get them to repaint the cabinets in the correct color,. We were to,d we would receive a refund for the tile that they over ordered ( about 6 cases), They have avoided us in this issue as well. Stay away from this firm.
