Salon on Central is a very pretty salon. The interior is great. The parking is great. The location is great. The front desk receptionist is professional. The customers great, friendly, fun. The stylist might be great but she would not do what I asked ...a full head of lowlights and a cut.....My hair has gone white....I don't like it....I told her I wanted to not see the white when I looked into the rearview mirror of my car...I don't know why that bothers me so much, but it does. My vision was for a full of head of brown lowlights mixing in with the white. She put in about 12 foils...which anyone who knows anything about foils knows that that is unbelievable for someone who has stated she want a full head done...when she told me she was finished and it was time to wait, I couldn't understand why she thought she was done....she had put 2 in the bangs, 3 on each side about as high as the top of the ears and about 4 in the back....I said I want the whole thing done...she said something like. "You'll see. It'll be what you want. Just wait." well stupid of me...but I said, ok....after the wait, she took the foils out and started the cut.....I reached to the back to see how long it was and let her know I wanted more off....She responded, "No. You don't want that." I did want that. I didn't know what to say. I LIke the shop. I like Aveda. I was new. I didn't want to burn a bridge. I just left it alone. When done, she blew it out. The top was completely white...of course, what else could it be when there were no foils there?.....I stood and said, "If I had to do it all over, I would put foils on the top." She asked....get this............She asked, "Really?".....Had she not listened? wasn't the appointment for a full head of high.lowlights? Hadn't I said more than once ....I want a full head of high/low lights? OMG. Hadn't I questioned her when she said she was finished? Hadn't she said it'll be what you want just wait and see......What do you do with that? I still didn't want to burn a bridge....and paid and left.....Later I called to make sure I wasn't charged for a full when what I got was less than a partial...I was told I was charged for a partial...so that would mean 12 foils + a haircut/blow dry costs $175. My rating for the salon is so low b/c I wasn't listened to. What I requested wasn't done. I was probably over charged...don't know that for sure....I don't have anything showing me what they charge. While she was putting the foils in, I asked what she would say if I had decided to just do all over color instead of foils. She answered that she would say no. There is the problem I think. If a customer wants something, who are you to say no????????????? Totally not happy. The salon deserves a higher rating, and the stylist a lower one.
Always an excellent experience, all staff is very friendly and helpful, from the greeting you get asultst the desk to your hair stylist. Katie is very knowledgeable about all aspects of hair coloring and advising you on color and cut. But she always listens to your questions, concerns, likes, and dislikes and takes it all in consideration when working with your hair!! Results I love my hair!!
I just moved to the area and am so happy I found this business! From the minute you open the door until you leave, you are treated with care not usually seen in a hair salon. Tina gave me a beautiful hair cut and took all my hairs issues into consideration.. I left a very happy customer and will return!! Actually made my future appointments in advance!
