“He is a really caring instructor and quite flexible with making sessions accessible. I am learning a lot with him and I would recommend“
“Awesome instructors. I love the adult class, I feel like I get stronger (physically, mentally, and emotionally) with every lesson.“
“We've only been attending classes here for a few months with our 2-year-old. Despite having no background in the sport, we were immediately hooked by the welcoming community and clear cultural and physical expertise from the instructors. +1 for a space that makes a conscious effort to be inclusive <3“
“I started training at Barro Vermelho 8 years ago after moving to DC. I had done a few years of capoeira regional before. I looked around and tried classes at a couple of places, but ultimately chose BV because of the great community. Friendly students, and a very open, non-hierarchical or stand-offish group. Mestre Bomba is very accessible, and easy to talk to. Also very relaxed compared to some capoeira mestres out there. If you're looking for a great workout, with community and self defense, this is it.“
“This was awesome!! Evy was a super cool teacher. I took the beginners class for the first time and she explained everything very well and came around to make sure my form and technique was correct. I didn't realize it would be such a workout but it was a lot of fun. Stuck around to watch the advanced class too and Evy taught both and that was cool to watch (on a whole different level than beginners haha)“
“This martial arts school is outstanding. I appreciate its emphasis on values like respect, honor, and tradition. It's especially beneficial for kids, with dedicated, highly skilled instructors who provide excellent education.“
