There is no other vet in DC I would trust to care for our dear, sweet, elderly basset house. We've gone to Union Vet Clinic for the last 7 years, since moving to DC. The entire staff is always so wonderful and Dr. Gross has been our trusted vet the entire time, but if ever Dr. Gross is out, we have always received wonderful care from the other Doctors on staff. I must say, sometimes it is very stressful coming in because of our dog's advanced age and not knowing what is wrong with her. I adopted a rescue and chose this as my vet because it was so close to my house. They also offer waive the initial $70 visit fee for rescues. Big mistake. The initial interaction was not great - the vet tech never introduced himself (I thought he was the vet I had an appt with until the actual vet arrived) and kept forgetting information (ie, he weighed my dog and then when inputting it in the computer said "what did he weigh again?" Luckily I had been paying attention.) When the vet arrived, her bedside manner was awful. She kept asking me how I could have let his ears get so infected - keep in mind I had owned this dog for less than 24 hours, which I tried... read full review

My yearling pup, Maddie, had a rapid onset of vomiting and bloody diarrhea that became increasingly severe on a Wednesday morning. I called my regular vet, which has two locations - both of which were closed for professional development with no means for current clients to contact any of the vets in case of emergency. So, I called around the area, hoping one could fit me in and I could avoid schlepping Maddie to an emergency animal hospital. I called Union Vet and explained my dog's symptoms.
