Roofing in Maine: I need to patch a section on my asphalt shingle roof. Chris Sr. came promptly the first morning after I emailed the company. He was very knowledgeable and gave a thorough explanation of the problem, but said they wouldn't patch it because I'd need a whole new section of the roof. He sent an estimate that night, but higher than we can afford. When I wrote to explain that to him, he proposed an offer for doing just the patch! I like him, and think he's very experienced, but that seemed a bit off to me. I wish he'd made a first estimate on what I'd asked for.
