If you are planning to use Roto-Rooter for anything in the future, don't. I had one of the most upsetting experiences with multiple members of their team, including the owner. We were in a pinch and needed assistance with a sink installation - when the employee arrived he hadn't been here for more than 2 minutes, gave me a quote and I kindly passed on their wildly overpriced estimate.What baffled me was that while I was making the appointment I asked if they had an approximate cost for projects like this, and the receptionist replied "They'll need to see it first", however when he arrived he had an entire book of costs stating exactly what a sink... read full review

The person who came to fix our leaking toilet tank decided to rebuild the whole tank (totally unnecessary since everything worked just fine). We just needed to replace a gasket. When questioned, he said that we, Roto-Rooter, just change everything (for no reason but for an outrageous price). We had to pay $500 (after using a $60 coupon) for a gasket that needed to be replaced and 15 minutes' worth of work. If we didn't fix it with them, he was gonna charge us 350 for diagnosis). Oh, and we had to call them back because the toilet wasn't flushing properly after the "wonderful fix". Horrible and rippoff! Stay away!

We called requesting service on a couple of clogged drains. The 1st technician showed up and didn't have the proper tools on his truck so they had to send another. When the 2nd tech showed up, he stated that there were two ways he could try~ the 1st way would cost us around $200, if that didn't work, then he would try the 2nd way which would cost us around $500. I verified that it wouldn't be a total of $700, as I felt that was way too high. He assured me that if the first way didn't work, we would not be charged for it.
