“I just moved to Silvermine (part of Norwalk which borders New Canaan on one side and Wilton on the other). Buying a house and leaving my NYC rental was all consuming so I quit Yelping--except for 3 long reviews in November from a new computer which posted to a NEW account and just didn't have time to get it sorted. I LOVE this salon. Ignore the low rating. One person had a bad experience and since there are few reviews, it brought the rating down to 2.5 stars. Having gotten that out of the way, let me proceed to detail all the reasons this is my new spot. One thing I missed about Santa Barbara (a place full of bad memories and a horrifying move with psycho landlord) was Brian at SuperCuts at the location by Costco in Goleta. I loved everyone at the salon and Brian is a big musical theater fan so it was like hanging out with a pal (which I never had in that town, even in the best of times). My last cut was Halloween and I figured I would get a trim only. My grays were a mess in January and I had a date so I went to my best friend's salon in N Stamford. It's a gorgeous place and they give you free cappuccino, champagne, and chocolate. But for single process it was $150 before tip. $185. I figured I would just suck it up because I'm no longer paying rent in the city but when I went in for a cut I discovered that CT Supercuts does in fact offer color services. My cut was perfect. Jess is terrific and the salon is friendly and relaxed. Jess have me Cicily's card and when the grays returned, I booked with her. Noble Salon is fantastic and if you want to spend money on a luxurious salon experience, I recommend it highly. But my color isn't complicated. Long and thick, which is why I don't do it myself , but single process isn't like a weave. The stylist at Noble didn't have my exact formula (my sister worked in hair 30 years and I've pretty much used the same Prevana formula 15 years--before I had grays to cover). It wasn't quite dark and purple /burgundy enough so I called Brian and got the exact formula. In CA and NY I used to bring my own. And in SB, if I didn't have the 4N or 5N (brown), Brian would use a tube of the Paul Mitchell (which is the Supercuts brand). CT forbids you from bringing your own but Brian said the last few times we used all Paul Mitchell. Cicily didn't have my color so went to get some before the appointment and she did one of the most meticulous, perfect colors of my life, taking her time with tiny sections of hair. It took longer but boy was it worth it! We had lots to chat about because I used to live in New Haven. I'm so happy to have a great salon 10 minutes from me. I went in for a cut a month ago and saw that this salon does offer color, though the website doesn't say so.“
