Can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner. I suffered a long fall and broke both my legs. I was in Gaylord for about 8 weeks. The place is amazing. From the doctors to the custodians. Everyone treated me perfectly. I had 2 of the best ever therapists. Pt was Stephine, she was amazing at getting me back on my feet walking. And Jamie for ot. She did everything from getting me going to helping me get to where I could take care of myself. They were my Angels. I can’t say enough good about them. I was in back in November of 24 and I think of them to this day. Thank you Gaylord and everyone there.
I went to Gaylord after having my leg amputated and spending 3 weeks in the hospital. I spent 2 weeks at Gaylord. I don’t even know how to describe how grateful I am to have been a patient at Gaylord. The nurses were there for me every step of my journey - from getting me treated for an infection at the start of it so it didn’t get worse, to keeping me comfortable when I wasn’t feeling well, and helping manage my pain or discomfort, even my homesickness, by just making me feel comfortable and heard and by listening to me, and all the while keeping me informed of my treatment. I was allowed to go to my therapy alone, as well as go outside to the gardens alone, on my terms - so I didn’t feel like I was a prisoner. My therapists were right by side for every success and every set back. They kept me motivated to work hard. They didn’t push me harder than I needed but they let me push myself and let me know when I was going too hard or not enough. The group therapy helped me make friends so I didn’t feel so alone. It also allowed me to see others in various stages of their recovery and let me set goals based on their recovery. I learned some people with both legs couldn’t do much because of their health problems but others with amputations or situations like mine were able to do a lot. I left Gaylord knowing I could conquer anything that came my way. I am thankful for getting the best care from Gaylord.
