United has been wonderful to deal with through a not so wonderful time. We've had several problems at one of our retail shops that required their services and being a commercial business we needed help quick so as not to inconvenience customers with a closure. United has been so quick in responding each time we've called and has been extremely helpful in solving our issues. Thank you Larry!
It may be indelicate to describe, but if you've ever had raw sewage back up into your basement (or can imagine same) you'll appreciate this review. I have a vintage 1830s home. We've had sewer line clogs from roots for the 30 years I've owned this house. The only way we knew there was a problem was when a backup occurred. We had sewage only once. Alerted to the problem we diligently watched and worried for signs of slow drainage. Then we'd call Roto-Rooter to again run the pipe. Each time they came out, charged hundreds of dollars, yet never once offered a solution. A year ago they said I had a temporary blockage and instead of running the pipe sold me a jug of root eliminator. This week the washing machine outlet overflowed and I called United instead, figuring the local company might be better. They were so much better. United came the same day and ran the pipe with their snake -- for half the cost of Roto-Rooter. Then they diagnosed the problem and suggested a solution, a fix, a "root rat" treatment. The cost was $1,800, but worth every penny. Sam and Sam Jr. came the next morning and spent five-and-a-half hours patiently water-jetting away 30+ years of roots. They were careful to make sure no sewer water backed up into the basement. What did come out of the pipe they caught in a bucket and carried away. (The other guy dumped it in the backyard.) They were careful and patient and very thorough. Sam and Jr. tested everything when they were done and left my basement floor cleaner than when they arrived. They showed me with a video camera a before-and-after of their work inside the sewer line. In the before picture I could see that all these years of snaking the line was only cutting a small hole in these big masses of roots at every pipe joint. I have an old clay pipe. When he was done, Sam even suggested a treatment and maintenance program to ensure I never have the problem again. The confidence that this messy problem is finally fixed is worth the investment and more. I only wish I'd know about United 30 years ago. I highly recommend them. Fair prices, prompt service and professional crews.
