I'm giving it three stars because parts are exceptional and parts are pathetic. Let me explain. I am physically disabled, I have a spinal cord injury. After my seventh spinal surgery I had to stop working and now I receive only disability. Every year I qualify and receive energy assistance and since this company is participating and not too far from my home, I choose Plainville oil to be my vendor. For those unfamiliar, the energy assistance program pays the oil company directly for the oil and then the oil is brought out and delivered to the customer. However, the program only runs from November 15th through April 1st. Here in Connecticut we often have snow by Halloween and last year we had freezing temperatures up until May 21st so there are several months in need of heating oil that aren't covered by the assistance program. The owner of Plainville oil is an old man who is old-fashioned and is entirely inflexible. I've been a customer of theirs for 20 years. I get oil at least twice a year that I have to pay for out of my own pocket COD only, and even though I've been a customer that long, he is very rigid and inflexible. I've asked if I could get oil and come down the very next day after my direct deposit to pay when it was in the single digits outside and the answer was no, no money no oil. Literally this was on a Sunday during a practical blizzard and I ran out of oil The very next day my check was going to be in the bank and I was willing to pay the same day fee and weekend fee but despite that, the owner said no. If you run out of oil, and require a startup of your burner, they charge a ridiculous fee. Sometimes it's $75, sometimes it's $150. Just depends on what tech does it. Now the techs are great. And many times when they have delivered oil I was out and they started it up for free. I have since learned how to do it as it takes all of three minutes and do it myself when necessary. Their techs are very knowledgeable and thorough when it comes to repairs and I really like that. So the repair work and the technicians is awesome. But they owner who has been the owner for probably 50 years, is very rigid and inflexible even on a disabled paying customer of over 20 years consistent.

I have always had good furnace service and oil delivery from this company. Not sure why the negative feedback on here. If anything changes I'll update my post. Ordering annual cleaning now.
