I have been going to Norwich Family Dental Associates for over 20 years. I will not go anywhere else. I think the entire staff is wonderful, they are all pleasant and professional. I see Dr. Mathew Amaro, who is amazing!! I had some serious issues when I first went there due to the lack of proper care from former dentists. He addressed my issues and monitors my oral health, addressing things before they get ugly. My whole family goes to him. His preventive care is outstanding! as well as his over all care. I would and do highly recommend Dr. Amaro as well as NFDA to everyone seeking good dental care.

The only reason it's getting three stars is because Dr. Amaro is a fabulous dentist. All of the techs in the back, and the dental hygienists are absolutely amazing. The reason that I don't even want to give it three stars, and I'm not giving it four or five, is because the front reception area and front desk staff are extremely rude and dismissive. Worse, they gossip about patients after they hang up the phone with them, loudly enough for everyone in the waiting room to hear. It was extremely upsetting to listen to their disparaging remarks about people who called in with questions.

I am prompted to write this review as I have been going to Dr. Amaro for a good number of years now, and he has been wonderful. As I age, I have experienced a number of issues especially since my teeth were all filled as a kid which I guess was standard practice in the 60s( and it wasn't pleasant I might add). In looking for a dentist, I wanted someone who was sensitive to the traumatized child many of us boomers are when dealing with dentist memories, and who was sensitive enough to understand the correct approach. Now, 15 or so years later, I actually look forward to going to the dentist because of the wonderful care I receive, as well as because of the wonderful support staff including hygienist Annette who gets an A + in my book. Everyone is different with varied needs, but this team gets my vote!
