I went to this salon because it's close. The owner (Roma) is very rude. She does not welcome black customers. I walked in and she acted like she didn't want to speak to me. I asked her how much was a wash and set, she responds in a nasty tone, oh I don't know the girl washing your hair will tell you (with no eye contact). For $50 for a wash set and blowout, it wasn't great, I had to go home and fix my ends. When I paid Roma she didn't even look up or say a basic thank you, she just put my card on the counter. She wants business from black people but doesn't respect us. Reading past reviews many people have complained about her attitude and some of her staff for years, but she continues to profit off black people and not giving us a minimum basic courtesy. I will travel further to better salons with better customer service. The negative reviews are 100 % accurate! I will NEVER go back to this salon and give her my money.

Im very sad to be writing this review. A few months ago, I moved to Canarsie & was directed to Lopez where I instantly fell in love with the cleanliness, location & hours. I began to get wash and sets every 4-6 weeks. Im a wig girl, i wear my hair braided 80% of the time, then I have moments where I take my hair out and just let it breath. My texture isn't course, or thick! My hair is always trimmed even but I do have frizzy hair because I sweat in my head a lot! After getting my last wash and set in January, Roma the owner suggested a Botox treatment to help with the frizzing. I did my research for a few weeks and this pass weekend I decided I'd just get a texturizer, being that it'll help me maintain my hair while I let it breath for a few weeks. I got my hair done Saturday around 3pm, while getting my hair treated, it began to burn which is pretty normal but this time it was excruciating! I informed the stylist which was Ana & she washed my hair out then sprayed it prior to setting it. I sat under the drier and got blown out an hour later, ending my hair in a rap. I noticed Sunday morning the entire back of my hairline was scabbed and burnt but, not only that! My neck was burned from the chemicals. I called Roma Monday afternoon to inform her of this situation & asked to to send pictures or stop by to show her. She directed me to buy burn gel or cream over the counter and told me it wasn't her stylist, it was the chemicals and irritation from the dryer. However, I was raised in and hair salon & I am completely aware of chemicals and what they can do. Accidents happen, but I'm more so bothered how I was left to handle this situation alone! I didn't do this to myself, and this is something that'll blister and most likely leave a scar. There was no sympathy, no apology, nothing!

Some of the staff made me uncomfortable hearing them talk about clients while there being serviced including myself and would leave you unattended to attend someone else one of the staff said to her coworker that was servicing a beautiful autistic young lady of you have a lot of patience like whatttttttttttttt ummmm
