About Ronald McDonald House Connecticut & Western Massachusetts
The Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut provides a vital service for families with children receiving medical care. It allows them to stay close by, enabling visits for nighttime feedings and offering a place to rest just down the road. This support, even for a few days, is profoundly helpful. The facility itself is an impressive building where families can sleep, eat, and do laundry, providing a crucial respite. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and goes above and beyond to make stays comfortable and easy. They are deeply desirous to help the children and families in need. The organization is noted for directing a high percentage of donations directly to those in need. For those unable to donate money, in-kind donations of items like coffee and disposable paper products are also sorely needed and appreciated. The donation process for such items is easy with simple paperwork.
Because of you, I was able to stay close to my boy while he was in the nicu. I was able to go in for feedings in the middle of the night and be able to go just down the road to get some rest. It was only a few days, but it helped more than people may realize. Thank you so much.
I was in the 501c3 area for 37 years, none of which were paid positions. During that time, I saw a horrifying assortment of evil deeds, perpetrated, usually, by the "big people" of the organization. I was the star witness for the prosecution of a very large embezzlement case, and ratted out other organizations for similar bad actors. Because of that, I am leery to a fault of the entire "family" of 501c3's. That being said. I don't have children, but I have a sizeable estate, which I am HAPPILY leaving to the RMcD House. Every inch of paper work I have poured over supports my decision, due to the percentage of donations that go DIRECTLY to those in need. I also have had the joy of speaking with, and or meeting the people who do the actual hands on work, all of whom are clearly deeply desirous to help the children and families in need of the generous donations. If you are unable to send money (which is me, at the moment), please think of sending an "in kind" donation, such as coffee, disposable paper products, etc. There are lists of necessities on FB, and the website, many of which are very inexpensive, but sorely needed. I am a regular person, not a bot, I have no affiliation with the RMcD House (aside from my donation when I'm dead!). If you have questions, feel free to hit me up on FB. Mary Howland, Mystic Ct.
