I was in the 501c3 area for 37 years, none of which were paid positions. During that time, I saw a horrifying assortment of evil deeds, perpetrated, usually, by the "big people" of the organization. I was the star witness for the prosecution of a very large embezzlement case, and ratted out other organizations for similar bad actors.
Because of that, I am leery to a fault of the entire "family" of 501c3's.
That being said. I don't have children, but I have a sizeable estate, which I am HAPPILY leaving to the RMcD House. Every inch of paper work I have poured over supports my decision, due to the percentage of donations that go DIRECTLY to those in need. I also have had the joy of speaking with, and or meeting the people who do the actual hands on work, all of whom are clearly deeply desirous to help the children and families in need of the generous donations.
If you are unable to send money (which is me, at the moment), please think of sending an "in kind" donation, such as coffee, disposable paper products, etc. There are lists of necessities on FB, and the website, many of which are very inexpensive, but sorely needed.
I am a regular person, not a bot, I have no affiliation with the RMcD House (aside from my donation when I'm dead!). If you have questions, feel free to hit me up on FB.
