Nicely maintained trails through hundreds of acres of preserved space - forest, meadows, hills, streams, etc. Recommend taking a hike to the waterfalls as a good destination. Twice I’ve gone on naturalist-led hikes here, which are fun and informative. Also great for kids who are physically old enough to hike. There were 4 kids on the last hike I did here, and all seemed to have a great time. Make sure to check the website and FB for activities at Great Hollow.

Wow great hiking on the green and red trails!! Apple trees in the lot providing abundance as well. They even leave out free produce from the garden this time of year! A hurricane came in and there were multiple shelters for myself and mowgli to stay dry in! Synchronistic path of dharma! Ahhh chhhhiiii so blessed ? . I give thanks great hollow!!

I have walked every trail here, in Ct and NY, more than a few times. I can tell you the Great Hollow Nature Preserve is much better maintained than the upper NY trails. I have recommended this area to many people and have brought people here as well. So many people walk through here and the trails are well beaten down, no getting lost, plus the markings are excellent. My husband and I love to hike and this is one of our favorite spots.
