Just wanted to give a shout out to New London County Septic. These guys are WONDERFUL! We had every problem imaginable on our Postage size lot - from our original septic engineer dying, to hitting Ledge, to the new engineer plans not being accurate, to removing/splitting Huge boulders, plus the annoyance of nosey neighbors and a small narrow work area – Todd and Jake handled it ALL – and they even put down sod for us at the end of the job! When they left our lawn looked beautiful. We were so LUCKY to have had NL Septic do our septic installation – especially as it was clearly not an easy installation. These guys are the best! Professional, timely, responsive, clean equipment, clean work area, reasonably priced – a family run business that actually believes in providing quality service. Mark Weber and his team helped us enhance the safety and aesthetics of our main entrance. The stone wall they rebuilt and paver pathway with the cobble edging look terrific. They are dependable, efficient, knowledgeable, and pleasant to work with. We're so lucky to have found Mark who is a talented craftsman.
Dave Tetlow and his crew and sub-contractors were a pleasure to work with. They coordinated well and got the work done with great attention to detail. Some of the excavation work was tricky because of limited space and it was a challenge tying the roofs of the existing buildings together. In both cases, the results came out extremely well. Dave was always available and he kept me well informed about all aspects of the progress. He interfaced very well with the electrical, plumbing, heating contractors and inspectors so that the phases of the construction were ready when their input was needed. Overall, the work was done very well and completely.
Over the last 7 years, Nutmeg Building and Remodeling has remodeled our kitchen, both bathrooms & our family room. They have demolished an old shed, replaced the front door, installed our siding and installed our windows. We have always gotten numerous quotes and Denise is not always the lowest, but we keep going back to her because she is honest, fairly priced and does quality work. We have had a couple instances where we were not pleased with something and Denise was quick to respond and resolve the issue. This is not uncommon in construction jobs and you really want someone who is easy to talk to and responsive and that is Denise. We will continue to use Nutmeg Building and Remodeling and refer them whenever we are given the opportunity.Services: General construction

By far the most attention to detail I've ever seen in a barber. In addition to the great conversation, the haircut was significantly better than I'm used to elsewhere. Highly recommend a haircut here. Will definitely be going back. Don't forget to bring cash.
Luna hair salon is an adorable salon in the heart of Gales Ferry. The decor is the perfect mix of artsy and industrial, while still feeling upscale. One of the newest members of the salon team is Tiffany, who was a joy to work with. She listened to what I was looking for, gave me realistic feedback, and was a joy to talk to during my service. While new to the Luna team, Tiffany is clearly a seasoned professional. She gave me a fantastic haircut and was a wizard with my color (blonde). If I could give the entire staff and GLVH a billion stars with a billion rainbows and billion butterflies, I would! I am not from Connecticut. However, I brought my mother's beautiful kitty Alley in with some urinary tract issues. The entire team knew I was only in town for the evening, and mom was recovering from back surgery. Everyone, including several veterinarians, technicians, and front of the "house" team, worked on helping Alley until beyond closing time to ensure the best treatment plan for my mom's beloved girl. I have never quite seen a team work so cohesively in an animal hospital before! And I love my vet! but wow, they really have a remarkable TEAM! Mom, myself, and of course Alley, thanks you from the bottom of our hearts! ?
I needed a key and fob for a truck I just bought. They were able to order both in a couple of days. We set up a time to meet and Jeff was there early. He had everything programmed in about 1/2 hour and we were off and running. Good price also.
I first met Jon Day in 2013, when he designed and fabricated screen windows for the Steel House at Connecticut College, a modernist gem from the 1930s. Jon immediately grasped the need to create low-maintenance screens that would be easy to handle and that would also be in keeping with the building’s unusual design. His solution was exquisite in its simplicity and also beautifully executed. He did not just care about the work; he was excited by the challenges it presented and eager to add value to the project.Since then we have turned to Jon and his crew time and again to work on personal projects: designing, fabricating and installing storm/screen windows at our old house in Stonington; restoring a 10-foot tall bay window at our current house in Mystic; coordinating the installation of a new roof in connection with repairing and replacing exterior trim; and installing new gutters in keeping with the historic character of this 1885 house. We have been uniformly happy with the process and the product. Jon has always been careful to make sure that he understands our priorities; to review with us detailed written proposals of the work; and to communicate with great transparency about how he sets his prices. During the process, he is always on site to ensure that things are going as planned, to keep the lines of communication open, and to make sure the worksite is safe and clean. Every member of the crew shares Jon’s ethos. It’s no exaggeration to say that they exude joy in their work.The results have been exceptional. Especially at our current house, projects have often been complicated when we have discovered just how badly executed some earlier repairs could be. In those instances, Jon has worked in close collaboration with us to brainstorm and assess the various alternatives. Invariably, we settle on an approach that will address the issue without breaking the bank. Best of all, the new components have always blended in seamlessly with the original building. Thanks to Jon and his crew, we have the pleasure of inhabiting a living, breathing piece of art.
