Sophie is a 10 year old military service dog, with a knee injury and bad hips. We pre-paid for laser joint treatments, showed up 15 minutes early, checked in, and were ignored for 45 minutes. The poor dog. She's in agony, and you OVERBOOK, AND TAKE EVERY WALK IN, INSTEAD OF HELPING SOPHIE. We put your KID through VETERANARY SCHOOL, after SIX YEARS of having THREE DOGS seen there, at premium prices. THIS is how you THANK a KENEALY KENNELS senior SERVICE dog??!! It's very sad, because the veteran is distraught now, and questions whether he wants another service dog after his experiences there. Devastating.
I took my senior dog in for an emergency for a collapsing trachea and was told I couldn't be seen. I had my dog in my hands at the time and it was clear she was struggling and was told I could wait in my car and it could be "hours" before I could be seen, if at all! That evening, I had to bring her to an emergency vet in RI and they had to keep her overnight. The next day, they allowed me to take her back to dr. Lambert amd said she may not make the ride there. They called Quinnebaug before we left to ensure oxygen would be given ASAP upon arrival . When we arrived, we were again told the doctor was seeing other patients and had to wait 2 hours in our car.....again! When Dr. Lambert finally saw her, he had no idea we were there the day before with this emergency and that we were turned away. No apologies given. I had been a client of this practice for years and have dealt with many mistakes from front and back, but this mistake in failing to recognize a true emergency by his front staff, I believe, cost my dog her life. I only kept my senior dog here because Dr. Lambert agreed to euthanize her at home when the time came. And when this awful day came, he told me he couldn't come to the house b/c he was out jogging and asked me to meet him at his office. So I had to say goodbye to my beloved Zoe on a cold table at her least favorite place. This was 2 years ago and it still angers me. I would never take another pet here again.
I can’t say enough of the amazing service we get from Dr. Lambert. We have 4 dogs and Dr. Lambert takes the time to discuss their health, findings, and options with us. We’ve been going to QVVH for years now and will continue to do go to them for the best care for our pets!
