JH is the only place I’ll go to get my hair done. I work with Kara, who is wonderful to talk to and an amazing stylist. She knows my hair so well, and I absolutely love working with her. She’s a magician at mixing a couple of different colors to get a red that complements my skin tone, and she knows just how to cut and style my hair so it falls perfectly with minimal effort on my part. I prefer low-maintenance day-to-day styling, yet I always get compliments on my color and style as if I spend every morning at the salon. I love the JH team and Kara and I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

The best salon in Hamden!! I have been a client since they opened. Heather, Jackie and the entire team go above and beyond. I always feel special when I'm there and then get so many compliments on my color! They know their stuff!!

The BEST place in the area for everything hair. Jackie understands what I want in terms of color and style (better than I do!) and executes it perfectly. She also gives it to you straight - if you don't need a more expensive service, she won't try to up-sell you. She has a great rapport with all her clients, and I always look forward to my hair appointments. That is very unlike me - I've always waited MONTHS between appointments, which leads to my hair (especially the ends) looking unhealthy - but now I look forward to seeing her every 8-10 weeks. They also offer waxing services, which, after a bad experience at a nail salon in the area, I will definitely be upgrading to JH Hair Design! They probably aren't the least expensive in the area, but you get what you pay for, and they are truly top-notch.
