I'd like to thank the wonderful employee's at Equinox in Greenwich, specifically, Assistant General Manager Paul and Isabel at the front desk for the amazing job they are doing. She was has the most pleasant welcome :D! Last night, I was working out close to closing hours in the yoga studio room. Paul came in to let myself and another female member know that they were closing soon in case we didn't hear the announcement because we had headphones in. Unfortunately, the female member verbally attacked him and got defensive about how he made her "uncomfortable" and was "singling her out." He profusely apologized to her and she continued the altercation for about 5 minutes, not allowing him the opportunity to relay the message to me as well until he was finally able to. All he had said to her was "Hi just wanted to let you know that our club is closing soon in case you didn't hear" in the most polite tone of voice. As I was leaving I noticed her talking to him again, making the same bogus claims while he continued to profusely apologize and even offered her the opportunity to workout a little longer past closing to make up for the situation. I did step in to thank him as I personally did not hear the announcement of closing soon and let that member know she was wasting her time fighting when she could have been working out. If she had a bad day, there was no need to take it out on Paul who was just doing his job. She was also with another young male member whom I'd like to add, seemed embarrassed at her behavior because he remained quiet the entire time and wouldn't make eye contact with anyone. Clearly she has some issues going on. Anyways, thank you Paul for being amazing! Keep doing an amazing job!
I spoke with Lucy to schedule a tour and Brandon showed me around. They were both great. I've really enjoyed it here since I joined recently. Although it is smaller than other gyms I've gone to, I find that it's not overcrowded, which is obviously important during a pandemic, and the app for scheduling everything from classes to workouts to personal training sessions is really easy to use. The staff is super friendly. I've trained with Jenny Jarvis and she was amazing. I learned a lot. She was really knowledgeable, friendly and motivating. Highly recommend her. The locker rooms are always super clean, love the Kiehls products, and eucalyptus towels. The overall aesthetic for the club is very serene. And the cleaning and disinfecting procedures are top notch. In my opinion it's worth every penny.
I started coming to this gym because of the close location to my new office. Plenty of parking! With Covid you have to schedule an appointment on the app for entry. You are allowed in 30 min prior to appointment time and have 90 min from your appointment time. The towels were initially behind the desk but now are out on the floor and in the locker rooms. You have to get your temperature checked before you enter. The locker rooms have plenty of lockers but I didn't notice any social distancing signs or blocked lockers like other clubs. The steam room isn't open yet but there are showers available. You are encouraged to wipe down the equipment before and after you use it. The space in the gym is pretty large especially with limitations. They are blocking other equipment, and the only thing that bothered me is people doing cardio with no masks, in every other equinox I've been in you have to wear a mask at all times except when taking a sip of water. I'll still be coming here, likely doing my cardio outside instead.
