Stay away. A few of the caregivers were good, but overall they were just there for a paycheck and aren't qualified to care for anyone with health issues. Short staffed. Personal items disappeared.
Run don't walk away from here! My 91 yo, Korea veteran father was admitted to Apple rehab in Colchester on July 9th and my daughter & l removed him on July 12th because he was not safe there. He has brain bleeds and is a total assist when walking. The first night "H" (RN) took him to the bathroom with no gait belt or walker. Excuse for no walker was that none were available...really? In a rehab?? He waited for 1 hour for his call bell to be answered and when it was not he was forced to go by himself on another occasion. Also he received 3 trays with no liqids on them. There was a small amount of blood on his pillowcase from a head wound. After looking for someone to give...read full review
My mom has been in Apple Rehab in Colchester since early May after a fall and hip surgery. It's been very hard on everyone to deal with a loved one during this pandemic. No visits is just the worst. My mom is 88 years old and has proven in the past to be an extremely difficult patient. THAT BEING SAID, EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. That I have dealt with at Apple has been extremely kind, understanding, more than likely exhausted, but not shown that to our family. They go out of their way to keep us notified, to bring mom to the window visits, prepare meals that she will enjoy. I am so thankful that this is where she ended up, quite by chance I think. The pandemic has been hell on everyone and all it takes is a little compassion on everyone's part when faced with a trauma like this. Thank you Apple for taking such good care of mom and for such great communication. Can't wait to hug you all some day!! Update-6/30. We are talking with Apple for a tentative discharge plan. She is still not able to walk without mechanical and manual assist so it's not easy. PT has been fantastic with her...and patient. As I mentioned, she is difficult to say the least. Nonetheless, they persevered and didn't give up on her. She is participating and seems to be in a better place in her head. Thank you PT! . The social worker has to be straight out with this #*%€ing pandemic but you'd never know it. She is kind, considerate, sympathetic and helpful. I'm never made to feel a pain in the neck. (I'm sorry they didn't save you any cake!) Rec, who handles visits, the people answering the phone, everyone I've dealt with - phenomenal people to choose this career in the first place, and then to excel and seem to enjoy your job. God Bless you all!! 10 stars!!
