“Getting a haircut as a non-binary person has often been a stressful experience that has left me feeling uncomfortable with the process and unhappy with the end result. I’ve seen both Omar and Jasper at Trivium and both of them are really great and fun to work with.

I’ve been seeing Omar more recently, and they are so skilled at recommending types of hair styles and hair colors that will work well with my features, as well as helping me understand hair care and maintenance much better. I feel like I learn something new about my hair every time I go in to see them, and they have never steered me wrong with their recommendations when I’m trying to make a new aesthetic decision.

It is also so relieving to work with someone who understands being non-binary and knows what types of styles may cause me more dysphoria, so that I don’t need to constantly over-explain and justify what I’m looking for in a more androgynous haircut as I have had to at other salons in the past. In all my visits to Trivium with both Jasper and Omar, I’ve never felt misgendered or pressured towards more feminine hairstyles the way that I have elsewhere. Highly recommend working with either of them if you are non-binary, trans, or anywhere else in the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. In addition, Sam at the front desk is very kind and friendly and great to work with.“
