I had never had my hair colored, so got partial highlights, and everyone was so impressed and thought it looked so natural. Because I'm bad at keeping up with coloring, Callie made sure my highlights would blend in naturally as they grew out. I highly suggest!

When it comes to both price and quality, in my opinion RA+A is the best firm in town. Their flexible contract options allowed me to start with a base contract and add services a la carte, as needed. This convenience meant I could focus on exactly what I wanted, without feeling locked into unnecessary extras. In addition, they came up with creative solutions to meet my design goals while keeping line items on target, unlike other firms in town known for going over budget. For example, I wanted a wood paneled accent ceiling that matched my oak floors. RA+A helped me save over $12K on this design detail by switching to a more affordable wood and staining it to look like oak instead of using actual oak.
Elizabeth Boone, a Principal at the firm and the lead on my project, was absolutely fantastic. I cannot recommend her enough. She was extremely organized and professional. She has a fantastic eye for design. And, she's skilled at creating beautiful designs in a wide range of styles - contemporary and traditional, etc. - which is unusual. She is highly detail oriented with exceptional project management skills. She worked at a top firm in NYC before coming to Durango which shows. I was always excited to see her new design ideas in meetings - from floor plans (she gave me multiple options!), to elevations, to custom fireplaces or kitchens. Elizabeth has a natural intuition of how to enhance designs to elevate the experience of day-to-day living. In addition to design, she excels in managing budgets, coordinating with contractors, organizing supplier meetings, and selecting materials. Her ability to communicate effectively ensures that everyone involved is on the same page, which made the entire process smooth and enjoyable.
RA+A offers a wide range of design services, from simple as-builts to comprehensive custom home designs. Elizabeth and her team helped me design six custom built-ins, including a desk, oak office drawers, a custom kitchen, bathroom vanities, a fireplace, a floating staircase, and custom window muntins. Their flexibility meant I could have as much or as little designed as I wanted. My contractor, Classique Builders, also did an excellent job overseeing the building process based on the designs.
The firm’s engineering expertise was invaluable. The owner (Tracy) is an engineer, and several engineers on staff (Dakota) provided critical support for my lot with challenging typography. They engineered a foundation cut into a steep slope and replaced eight columns with substantial beams to maintain an open floor plan, showcasing their advanced technical skills and precision.
They seamlessly integrated natural views with the house, creating a harmonious balance between the indoor and outdoor spaces. This connection was aided by: thoughtful roof deck design, placement of windows according to surrounding mountains, 5 panel doors, and strategically elevating the home as the slope of the land increased in order to center views of mountains & garden.
Lastly, their knowledge of the city's code was a significant advantage, saving me time and money during the design phase. This expertise is not something all architects in Durango possess, and it made a noticeable difference in the efficiency of the project.
I spent 18 months working with RA+A. I highly recommend them.
On a side note, I also recommend spending as much time as possible detailing what YOU (the client) want before you meet with R+A or any architect. Include both qualitative and *quantitative* descriptions. In part, the success of a custom home is determined by how well the client (YOU) can communicate what you want & need.
We added another 4 panels and both on the original install and the additional panel install Shaw Solar was quick, neat, thorough, and professional. Would not go anywhere else for my Solar needs!

Ed and his crew have done a tremendous job removing snow from the roofs of our complex this winter. We have steep 3rd story roofs with lots of angles, corners, and valleys. Last year we had leaks in at least 5 units because of ice dams and melting snow. This year, with Adept's help, we have not had any leaks.The Adept team is professional, accommodating, and a pleasure to work with. We'll be working with them for a long time. Definitely recommended.

Kerri is a wonderful stylist! I went to her after my hair had been damaged at a previous salon. She was successful in trimming my damaged ends so that my hair did not look and feel like straw! She has since cut and colored/highlighted my hair multiple times and I am always happy with the results. I can show her a picture or describe what I want and she always comes through.
I made an appointment with Krystale for a Gel Mani/Pedi on Tuesday and was greeted by an extremely friendly and trendy women who owns the full service hair, nails, eyelashes, brows and waxing salon. She gave me the best mani/pedi I have had in Durango, had wonderful conversations and made future appointments because she is extremely busy. She works long hours to take care of her clients, which is so unusual for Durango, so if you are looking for caring, hardworking people this is the salon. Easy parking, comfortable salon and great treats after whatever you’ve had done!!!

I love this Shop! Gilbert is legit. My son has been coming here since elementary. Last time I couldn't get an appointment and made the mistake of taking him to a walk in place in Durango. They messed his cut up, REALLY bad. Chill Spot fixed us the next week but we had to cut a lot of length off and he was trying to grow braids.
*Side note NEVER go to Bucks if you have ethnic hair. My son is Black, Mexican and Native with 2C thick/course hair. They butchered it. It took Chill Spot an hour to fix.

I've been looking for somewhere in Durango to handle my son's cultured hair and have had some nightmare experiences.
One lady at Walmart did great...ONE lady and with the varied schedules she was hard to nail down. So, we got some not so great results if we didn't get HER specifically.
We went to Buck's on the fly and they got him in within 20 minutes. We showed Candess a picture of what we were looking for and not only did she take her time but, I could tell she puts pride in her work.
He walked in with an afro and walked out with the curls of a Greek God and a fierce fade!

Andrea is absolutely amazing at color and cuts. I’ve spent the last twenty years bouncing around from one hair stylist to another - always leaving disappointed. I went to Nick for a rework (different tattoo artist and a bad heal). I have 5 total tats, and the work he did was by far my easiest heal ever. We had great conversation during the session, he worked efficiently, and the tattoos look even better than the originals. I’ll definitely be returning to have him finish my half sleeve.

Pros: Super friendly and prompt service! In Durango where a lot of companies can’t even answer the phone, this is huge.
Cons: just shy of 800 bucks for a garbage disposal replacement job which took them about a half hour. I realize plumbers are expensive, but dang. I also didn’t love their “good” “great” “best” or whatever options where they look at a bunch of other stuff (that I never asked about) and make recommendations. Just felt like being upsold. I never asked for anything but a garbage disposal and then they’re telling me my 5 year old water heater (which works great) needs to be replaced for a few thousand bucks. If my water heater was going out, I’d ask about it lol.
The technicians completed the job and were respectful but pricing was high. However, an M&R manager worked with me on pricing, so I have amended my review and will consider them for future work should we need plumbing services.
Paramount Plumbing was exactly what we needed. Diagnosed our issue with our boiler for our hot water radiant heating system and fixed it quickly and affordably.I appreciated that when I called I spoke directly to the plumber who came out to my property (and not a front desk person). They were prompt and available short notice over the holidays. Will definitely be calling them again in the future!

Well I've tried to call several times, left phone messages, sent an email, but nobody answers the phone, answers messages, or responds to emails so I'm not impressed, guess I will have to look elsewhere which is a shame since they're listed address is just a few blocks away.
To his credit the owner did call Monday afternoon after I had written the review and said he had left for an early morning emergency call and had just gotten back to the office. He offered to come over right away but I had already made other arrangements.
My suggestion would be that his cell phone be his business phone number because potential customers assume that business phones will be answered and have no idea what the reason is for them not being answered.
I did call three times Monday and waited till about 1:30pm before I contacted another plumber.
I had a leak under my sink and, because it was a Saturday, no one else was open. I had several calls and exchanged text messages with a young man named Austin to figure out how soon I needed someone to come out to look at my sink. Once I decided I needed someone to come out immediately, Austin was at my home and fixed the problem in a matter of about 2 hours. Although I had to pay an extra fee because it was a weekend, the cost of the repair was still very reasonable. I was grateful!
Aaron and Dillon came and did some work on my house I few months back. They were absolutely fantastic. Their professionalism and knowledge was top tier!

I can’t say enough good things about this company, and Matt. Their same day response time was truly appreciated. Matt took time to troubleshoot our heater problem over the phone and walked me through the process to reboot our system, and explained what the codes on the panel meant. These guys are legit! We only had them do landscaping/xeriscaping (no fire mitigation) and they were the only company we could find that did synthetic turf. They answered the phone, showed up and stayed until the job was AMAZINGLY done. We needed the job done ASAP and Bryan/Zach gave us guidance so we could start (note they were the only reliable company we could find). So we did some of the work ourselves with their guidance and then they came in when they could and did the rest. top notch with great recommendations and execution. Cant recommend them enough.

Dan has done many jobs in our neighborhood. His workers are alway polite and clean up the job site before saying the job is done. Dan is a certified arborist and can answer any questions about diseased and infested trees. He knows that timing for pesticide application is critical. His team has been helping with our Fire Mitigation Day every May. We've been very pleased with his work.
Absolutely the best dental experience I’ve ever had at 57 years old! I saw Dr. Brown and her hygienist, Jenn. I had a horrific infection in a back molar that has needed attention for awhile. The front office ladies were wonderful to begin with. Then, once in the chair, Jenn quickly took X-rays and went over every bit of medical history. Dr. Brown came in within 20 minutes and had seen the X-ray and told me the tooth needed to come out. She was willing to do that right away. It was already broken off and I had been sick with infection for weeks. They sensed my anxiety and worked with me to eliminate that. I walked out of there about 40 minutes later with an appointment to go back to check progress and put a treatment plan together. I’ve had extractions that weren’t as bad as this, that really hurt. I had no pain in the chair and very little at home. I can’t express my gratitude enough, nor can I recommend anyone more. Pricing is very reasonable too. So thankful!!

Good holistic dentist, kind, respectful, relaxed atmosphere. Dr Streitzel is genuinely caring and considerate, very knowledgeable about many details that most dentists do not share, and takes the time to explain and listen to my concerns. The only reason I do not give 5 stars is it is hard to get in touch with them during the limited time they are open, and mainly because there is a lack of follow through whenever I've left messages or email. This has happened at least a few times since I started coming in 2020. Recently I called a day after my visit, requesting a treatment plan and filling materials used. No response after one week. I called again and there was no acknowledgment when I mention this. One unfriendly person answering the phone can make a big difference. The same has happened when I've requested info by email. This has caused me to consider going elsewhere. A courteous, kind and professional front office person is equally as important as a good dentist. All the other staff are wonderful.
My partner had a broken tooth, and we were able to get an appointment for consultation the very next day. Once the consultation was done, she was able to get an extraction done a couple of hours later. During the procedure, the entire team was super considerate with her dental anxiety, and put in extra time and care to make sure she was comfortable, even getting her a blanket! My partner also was able to get in contact with the office outside of regular hours, and the dentist called her to check in on the weekend, with a follow-up the next business day. Cannot recommend this office enough, especially for those who might be weary of dental work.Thank you all so so much!
Everyone is very friendly and professional. I do not have a dentist in Durango, but they were able to work me in and get my cracked tooth taken care of. I had a new crown on that same day!! So thankful I found them.
By far, the best dental experience I've ever had!! Dr. Rothchild and his team are extremely thorough and caring. They tested things I've never had tested -- like my breathing, the pH of my saliva, and my favorite of all: they tested what microorganisms are in my mouth!! I got to see what Catalina was seeing under the microscope as it was displayed on the tv screen above me.

I also had the most thorough cleaning I've ever had and feel much more confident about what's going on in my mouth and what I need to be aware of. They also carry holistic/organic/healthy products which I love!

Having retired and moved home to CO, I needed a new dentist and picked Durango Dental. Over the past four years I've had three crowns as well as a root canal, and I deal with periodontal disease issues (so I see them regularly for cleanings). I have been very well informed about all procedures, and Dr. Belt regularly demonstrates he truly cares by taking the time to make sure this is the case. The practice does keep up with advances in technology and all staff take the time to educate me and treat me as I'm actually a friend. Between my own home care and the care of Durango Dental, I'm happy with my oral health, credit due mostly them. I had a great dentist before I retired. I feel that I do now, again. Highly recommended. Thanks you guys!

I was visiting Durango/Bayfield this past April of 2024. While on my visit, I began experiencing severe pain in an area of my molar. The very next day it got so bad, my face eyes and cheeks had swelled and I could no longer manage it.
I phoned my Lakewood, CO Dentist, whom has taken care of our family for over 30 plus years. She said "don't drive home, I know a colleague of mine from Dental School who now practices in Durango and Bayfield, CO."
I immediately called this office at 801 Florida and was quickly taken care of. The receptionist ( all of them ) were compassionate and got me in the very next day.
Dr. Courtney Heinicke and his Assistant Kiffanie were outstanding. They listened and had great touch in caring for my emergency. After a quick X-Ray it was clearly visible that the tooth had two cracks in it and could not be saved.
I was emotionally tearful because I didn't want to loose it. They carefully explained the process to me and answered all my questions. Dr. Heinicke numbed me up quickly and proficiently. I became much more comforted by their care. The tooth came out quickly and my body was finally eased.
They assured me that they were also available 24/7 if I had any post issues..... A on call Doctor was just a phone call away. I did not need any post care, I followed up with my Dentist when I came home from my visit.

Since the first time I walked in to the last time I cancelled, had an injury and called them on a Monday, they've done such an excellent job. Every time I walk in the door I'm greeted like I've been going there for years. Definitely recommend walk in chiropractor not only because he does great work but partly because they have openings throughout the morning to walk in and get adjusted. I can recall only ever being in there for 45 min max.
Dr Heather is the best! I breed and show my dogs. They are a rare breed and I work hard to keep my older boy in great shape. I could not do it without Dr Heather. Recently he was very sore and he needed to breed a girl who was here from Phoenix. Dr Heather made time for us to come and after her acupuncture and laser he was once again acting like a youngster. 9 puppies born! Also when we had a 7 year old boy that had cancer, she kept him comfortable and was a huge help. Animas Animal is the best!! UPDATE!! My 3 year old girl has snored like a freight train since she was a baby. Her allergies have been awful. We've tried all sorts of western medicine but two days after taking some herbs prescribed by Dr. Heather, she no longer snores and is much happier. Another success story.

The entire staff was super friendly. Very thoughtful to my new puppy, always making sure he was comfortable. Dr. Marshall took his time and answered all my (obsessive) questions very throughly. Worth the drive from Dunton, CO.
Karlene is extremely knowledgeable and professional. When western medicine fails to treat the source of an issue in dogs or horses, holistic medicine approaches the problem in totality, not simply treating the symptoms. I highly recommend Karlene and her practice!

I love this vet for my cats! All of the staff are super helpful, especially Erika. My cats love that they can roam around the exam rooms. The room with all of the plants is amazing! The vet did her exams with them on the floor to make them more comfortable, and even had some catnip from her garden. They are also very efficient.

We were from out of town and passing through Durango on our way from Oregon back to Pittsburgh, PA. As we were walking through town after hiking, Rosco started drinking water from a bowl outside of one of the gift shops. He started drinking way too fast but by the time we pulled him away from the bowl it was too late. A couple minutes later he started showing symptoms of bloat. He was trying to vomit and nothing was coming out. He then got in a hunched over posture and looked “bloated”. We immediately drove over to Riverview Animal Hospital as it seemed like the highest ranked vet in the area off of my quick google search. I am so thankful we chose to come here. They were QUICK. Once was expressed our concern for his stomach flipping, they took him back for an X-ray IMMEDIATELY!! I knew the news was bad when Dr. Amy came out a few moments later and told us we needed the surgery now or that he would not make it. Not only were they great with Rosco but they were great with us as well. By the time we got that news we were emotionally pretty unwell. The surgery took a few hours and Rosco came out alive and well. Nearly 3 weeks later I’m writing this review. Rosco is 100% back to his normal energy filled self. I have nothing but gratitude for everyone here!! Dr. Amy is incredible and you can tell she is compassionate about what she does.

Called to get my dog spayed. They were booked for a couple weeks, and I passed off my situation as needing it sooner than later, which in my mind was accurate. But due to the thorough education the receptionist gave me, I was enlightened that it would be better to wait numerous weeks after the dog was past her first heat. She could have just been direct with her answer and that was it, but she inquired about what kind of dog it was, etc. Another place in town I called was just matter of fact, and almost rude as if this is what we recommend, and that's it. The size of the dog, the type of dog, none of it mattered. A red flag. This lady was very nice and patient with my questions. I'll definitely be taking my dog here when the time comes. The other 2 places I've dealt with in Durango I'd be wary of.
Dr. Schoedler is the best. She has always treated us so well. They take such good care of my fur baby.
I am so happy I found this studio. They have a nice variety of classes from restorative to hatha to vinyasa. All of the instructors are unique and focused on meeting my needs. I love Brady's restorative class which often incorporates sound healing.
K-Lea is a true gem of a teacher. She is so knowledgeable and helpful. The degree to which she is able to speak to such subtle patterns in the body is incredibly profound. In explaining things she is SO THOROUGH and thoughtful, insightful, and sensitive. The things she has taught me are transforming my practice. Small things with big effects, like how to properly move, bend, and extend my knee in various poses. Or how to use props to make certain poses accessible, balanced, restorative, and effective. I just absolutely adore her and am so grateful to know her and look forward to practicing with her more ??????
Really enjoyed Garretts Power Vinyasa class. The class was maybe 2/3 full but it felt there was enough space to move around for each pose. The studio was good vibes. Would recommend.

I had never heard of NLP until I met Alexandria. I had a severe picking problem that I was ready to kick. In a few deep sessions she helped me uncover the timing of my habit and why I do it. Very deep reprogramming that helped me dive into my subconscious. Other than EMDR I’ve never done work like this before. I’m not gonna lie, it was challenging for me at times but Alexandria holds space so beautifully and intuitively knew when I needed extra support and guidance. I highly recommend her work!

Jennifer is a really great massage therapist. She took the time to really get to know what I needed and the areas of my body that could use the most help. After my first visit I felt like she truly listened, and put a lot of good energy into making me feel better. And I truly felt like a noodle afterwards! Jen at Studio Soma is an amazing Gyrotonics instructor. Every class is so different and beneficial. She ensures to ask what is going on with our bodies and tailors sessions to our specific needs. I love that Gyro feels wonderful while doing it, helps my body move better in my every day life, and is always so much fun! We are lucky to have an instructor like Jen in Durango.
