Melanie and Maggie are amazing women and excellent instructors! I host two trail running retreats in Boulder, CO (per year) which include a StreetWize Self Defense session. My retreat participants love the class and have a great time learning useful techniques from Melanie and Maggie. The class is informative, the techniques are easy to understand and apply, and the people are inspirational. I highly recommend Way of the Crane!

I had been seeking a class like this for my two daughters, one of whom is going to college this year. I wanted something along the lines of "how to survive the most important 10 seconds of your life, if diplomacy fails", and Sensei Melanie delivered. I now have confidence that if my daughter is in a bad situation, she will have the knowledge, strategy and tactics in her toolkit to survive and get away. I feel like this was a Top 10 Parenting Decision in our 18 years of raising kids.

I went as a part of a company self-defense class. From the moment I walked in, the teacher was very welcoming. You can definitely tell the amount of passion she has for her art and vision for her students.Definitely recommend it for any company or individual
