    If you have a neurodiverse child, BOK ranch is an incredibly special community.My daughter is enrolled in a program where she is learning to care for horses. She's autistic, so a lot of typical after school programs don't work for her.The ranch is her idea of heaven, and it's helping her to build skills along with her self-esteem. Staff are patient and knowledgeable, I can't say enough good things.

    BOK Ranch is fabulous! I have volunteered here for about a year and I can't say enough good things about this organization. There are few activities that are so fun and so positively life changing all at the same time. I've seen first hand the incredible impact of therapeutic horseback riding at BOK on it's riders, mentally, physically and emotionally. The volunteers are a very fun group -- I've made some amazing friends by volunteering here -- and the instructors are great teachers and invest greatly in their clients, as well as the volunteers and parents.     This is a therapeutic horseback riding program for developmentally disabled adults and children. it's located at the picturesque Horse Park at Woodside they do trail rides and arena classes. the arena classes are primarily for groups, although they may do trail rides with groups as well. my experience with this is only with the individual sessions. my client spends half an hour raking manure, and half an hour with a trained facilitator who is very gentle. the horses are all very gentle as well. my understanding is that all of the staff are female. they are currently full, but you can always call to see if they have openings coming up. they are open 7 days a week.... read full review
