Been training here for about a year. They teach traditional Kodokan Judo which includes throws, sweeps and grappling (ne-waza). Senseis are friendly, patient and encouraging. 2 classes a week for both kids and adults. Great place to learn and build connections with other judokas.

The dojo provides a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn judo. The instructors are patient, attentive, and excellent at working with kids of all ages. The instructors do a great job of mixing in the children with the adults so they are all learning concurrently. The sense of community at West Covina Judo Dojo is fantastic. The staff and other parents are friendly, supportive, and welcoming, making it a great place for both kids and parents alike. The training sessions are well-structured and engaging. They keep the children focused and motivated, with a good balance between learning techniques and having fun. All lessons are centered around traditional... read full review

West Covina Judo Dojo is one of the oldest establishments in the San Gabriel Valley, since 1957. This is a historic dojo which is family and community oriented. This is a not for profit and its goal is to further the martial art of Judo to all whether young or old or in between, regardless of skill or athletic ability. The aim is to increase your overall athletic abilities , be better able to defend your self, and overall become a better person. I'd recommend Judo if you want to learn one of the few martial arts that teach real world problem solving skills.
