We were finally going to get our backyard remodeled. We received proposals from many paver and pool contractors. We selected TPG because their owner, Brian Schmidt, spent much time with us. He submitted a plan (drawing) and could do the entire project, including the pool. He admitted being more expensive and made up for that with quality and attention to detail. Our project needed a lot of that.Then the project began and we met the tradesmen. TPG have had the same crew for over 10 years and they are family. This means a lot. I am very pleased with the installation of pavers for my side and back yards by The Paver Guys (TPG). 1200 sq ft of 50 year old concrete needed to go. 3 bids received, and I selected TPG based upon reviews, the best price, and warranted work. They showed up on Friday and finished on the following Wednesday. Very hard workers. They kept the work site orderly. Always had a crew foreman on-site and I also met with the project manager daily. I now have proper drainage in my yard which was not thought of when my house was built in the 60's. Yes, this type of job makes your yard a construction zone (tracked dirt, stacks of pavers, piles of gravel, cement dust) for a few... read full review

Brian Schmidt and his crew did an excellent job on restoring my 60 foot in diameter round pen I use for my horses. I met him by chance on a Wednesday at MacAlvey's Nursery in Martinez while I was ordering sand for my round pen. He overheard my dilemma and offered solutions. He came to my property the same day I shared with him my challenge. The next day he and his lead supervisor were out explaining what needed to be done and how to approach the challenge. The following day his crew of 6 staff were on my property by 7 am, leveled my round pen, laid down a product to keep the sand from eventually settling into the hard clay soil, and prepared it for 7 loads of sand,... read full review
