I have avoided chiropractors most of my life because of a bad experience when I was a teenager. When my husband began feeling so much better after seeing Dr Scarda, I decided to see him. After just a couple of weeks, I feel so much better! Dr Scarda is obviously very skilled and kind. My lower back pain is gone and my headaches are less severe and less frequent
I first saw Dr. Skarda back in the 1970s, when he was with the Latch Clinic in San Francisco. When I first went in, the clinic took full spinal X-rays, from the front and side, with me standing up, and told me to come back the next day for an evaluation. (This was back when X-rays had to be taken on film and developed-- yeah, back in the "old days"!)When I went in for the evaluation, Dr. Skarda showed me my X-rays, and I immediately saw that I had problems. I knew that from the front or back, the spine is supposed to be straight up-and-down. Mine wasn't; instead, it sort of meandered back and forth, like a gently meandering river. I turned to Dr. Skarda and said, "Is that as {expletive omitted}-up as it looks?"He was quite taken aback, but after a moment, he nodded and said, "Uh... yes," and then went down the X-ray, from axis to coccyx, explaining what was wrong with my spine, what he could do about it, and what the results would be.I thought, "Wow-- this guy really IS a quack-- not only is he saying he can get rid of my migraines, but that he can get rid of these other problems as well!" But even so, I followed the regimen prescribed-- the migraines had grown so bad that I was willing to try ANYthing to stop them. The first week, I had to go in every day, six days a week. The second, every other day. The third week, three times a week. Immediately, I got results! The migraines STOPPED. Not only that, but the other problems I'd been having STOPPED. Since then, I've had only TWO migraines-- and both of those were so many years ago that I don't even remember when they happened. In fact, I haven't had any headaches at all for many, many years-- so many that I've forgotten what a "headache" even feels like!Dr. Skarda eventually left the Latch Clinic and moved over to somewhere in the East Bay. I was sorry to see him go, but I knew that wherever he went, he would be an asset to any community he chose. To anyone who is reluctant to try chiropractic, I will say this: Yes, a great many chiropractors ARE "quacks"-- but plenty of others are not, and Dr. Skarda is one of the latter. I haven't seen him for well over forty years, but I have never forgotten how professional and caring he was, how he patiently and fully answered my questions, always treating me like a living, intelligent being (rather than like a lump of meat), and how he did exactly what he said he would do-- he got rid of my migraines and other problems-- and I am, and always will be, SO GRATEFUL for what he did for me! So-- thank you, Dr. Skarda! You may not remember me, but I will always remember you, because you literally changed my life! Thank you, and thank you, and thank you again!!!
Wow! I came in here walking like a hunch back no joke. I am a pretty active person so I felt very bad and was in excruciating pain. I walked basically begging him for help and he squeezed me in. He is so friendly, knowledgeable, and more importantly I feel 80% better and can walk. I am coming back tomorrow I feel so happy that I found him.
