Good place to go when my luck was good. But in hardship Tom Callen (who was a UC Berkeley professor) mis-interpreted my demeanor when I tried to communicate with him, and became very vengeful and threatening in an accusatory manner without any clear communications. At my last check up in I think 2013, the machines had a lotion like substance on them that smelled like semen on the skin contact points, and Tom had been domineering enough that in hardship I was afraid to walk out and had to put my chin and face on it.

Dr. Stephanie Chan is great and really wants to get your prescription just right, she's 5 stars! My loss of 3 stars comes from the very rude young woman at the front desk. Her tone of voice and demeanor is so rude and belittling. I have experienced this towards me (just today) and seen her interact with other patients just the same on past visits. It would behoove "Dr. Roy's" to put another one of the nice ladies at the reception desk instead. I will sadly be taking my business to Kaiser and another optometrist in the area.

Came here for a regular check up and to get new lenses for my glasses. I got Stephanie Chan instead of Roy and she was really cool. I really don't like things around my eyes and she was very patient with me every time I would flinch away from the eyedrops or light. She also listened to my concerns about issues with my eyes and explained to me why that was happening. The last eye doctor I went to kind of just smirked at me when I was telling him what I was worried about and brushed it off like I was overreacting. Very glad I came here, way different levels in quality of service compared to my old place.
