Office experience Care quality And total lack of caring The total lack of empathy for some in chronic pain and have dragged on and on collecting the insurance money and not even pinpointing what the problem is. And will not release the results of an MRI to the patient. Will not respond to request for information on many occasions over the last to weeks. The hubris of the medical staff here is beyond belief.

I loved my surgeon but his support staff was lacking. Dr Griffiths performed a R TKR on Valentine's Day. Beginning with the hospital discharge up through today, I have difficulty getting service from Staff: discharge meds called into wrong pharmacy, no one on call to cover for the surgeon, had to call and request PT, waited a week and didn't hear from anyone, called again, finally started PT 2 weeks and three calls later. I saw a PT for my 2 week post op appt. My 6 week check up is scheduled for end of May, 14 weeks after surgery. Loved my surgeon, but support staff and call center remind me of a bad version of Kaiser.

Let me begin by telling you that I have been in the medical field for over 30 years and have been an award-winning journalist... At the risk of sounding like "Debbie Downer," I have decided to focus on the positives of my experience at GOLDEN STATE ORTHOPEDICS, before I proceed to address the unimaginable inadequacies. I presented for a shoulder related issue and was treated by an exceptional orthopedic specialist, Dr. Charles Preston; and subsequently was treated by another dedicated and equally credentialed RN & Nurse Practitioner, Laura Davis, who has been at the current and former clinic for over 15 years. In my estimation...as a fellow medical professional...compared to the incompetent, slip-shot treatment I received by the other Golden State Orthopedic & Spine designates...these two fine members of the medical community...ARE DOING THE LORD'S WORK! Allow me to elaborate...it took me two hours today...being waylayed, relayed and parlayed...through the most agonizing telephone decision tree in medical office history...which began in a distant California Call Center and took me to the Philippines...AND PARTS UNKNOWN...before I ever got back to the original orthopedic clinic located in Walnut Creek on 2625 Shadelands Dr. As my shoulder was inflamed, they had promised me that they would call in my prescription for Voltaren generic and they were so disorganized, that I had to get the pharmacist at Safeway W.C. to PURSUE THEM, in order for the Pharmacist to save face with me...your humble narrator. In closing, the only reason I gave this orthopedic and spine injury clinic two stars, were for the TWO STARS... Dr. Preston, M.D. and Laura Davis, FNP-C, RN-FA, MSN...that made the otherwise inexplicably unbearable process...EXTREMELY PLEASURABLE...
