Staying at the Rincon Beach RV sites, they are all controlled by Ventura County Park staff, and most that we encountered, appeared about 18-22 years old, including the "Park Ranger", an unpleasant youngster with a real "I Have a Badge" complex. RV neighbors about as pleasant as they could be, everyone respecting each other's space and curtailing the dog barking. Rules seem to be quite arbitrary, most not written down, seems to be an unwritten Torah of rules that you are expected to abide by without question. When asked about a certain rule being enforced the answer was "Because I told you so." Anyways, we come back all the time and put up with the youngster Park Rangers and staff. Just one of those things I guess. Amazing what a badge does to some personas.

Called to cancel an existing reservation at Faria Beach campground. Spoke to Annette in the Parks department...talk about rude and not friendly. She said she couldn't refund my card (even though my card info has not changed), I asked why and she responded with a raised voice "I don't know and there's nothing I can do about it now! You will get a check in the mail." She wouldn't even take the time to confirm my card details or see what the issue was. I had to ask how long it would take to get the refund check...3 to 4 weeks! A whole month! And they charge you addtional fees for canceling reservations...even when done in advance. After that, she didn't ask if I needed help with anything else, say good-bye, nothing. Rudest person ever. First and last time I book through Ventura County parks. I book through Santa Barbara County, State and Federal all the time. Never dealt with someone as unfriendly and unwilling to help as Annette.

Reservations is a joke booked months in advance but when my reservation was coming up I had not received confirmation so I called. The women I talked to could not find any reservation for me in the system. this caused my friends who had also booked a spot to cancel since I had no reservation. This of course cost them to cancel. I received a text from ventura the day after my reservation was supposed to have been begun asking why I had failed to show. I contacted my credit card company and filed a dispute. Ventura answered with a he did not show so he owes. Never did they mention my calls to them or there text to me. So ventura riped me off for 139 dollars. Beautiful sites run by incompetent personnel.
