With my grey roots nearly 6 inches long and my bangs impeding my vision, I sought out a salon. The first name that stood out on my Google search was Ivy Mae. Loved the name and the location, as I could walk there from my place in under 5 minutes. I remembered driving by the place a bazillion times. The building itself has a clean bright presence on E Main.I got there a trifle early; the front door is not right on Main St, rather you enter Ivy Mae's little courtyard/ waiting are furnished with chairs. I had a color and cut today by Angie and I could not have been more pleased. Not only was she warm and personable, she was very professional and so careful to make sure she understood my requests and my needs were met. I was WELL overdue for a proper styling and Angie exceeded my expectations! She also provided helpful hair care tips and walked me through all of the yummy smelling products she was using. I had my hair cut by Angie a couple days ago and she did a phenomenal job! My hair is thinning right now, and she suggested a cut that made it look much fuller and healthier, and I was impressed by how meticulous she was in making sure it was straight. Nicole also stopped by to talk to me about my hair issues and that helped calm my nerves a bit (thank you!).The only minor issue I had was having it brushed out after the wash was a painful process (too much tugging) so I did have to ask Angie to be more gentle, which she was afterwards. Otherwise everything was great and I'll definitely be going back for my next cut!
