I had to follow up on progress of my 2020 return. Jerry had simply forgotten to call back regarding a question he had which tells me he's too busy. After submitting the "completed" tax return to the IRS, I received the full copy of my return and noticed a huge mistake he had made. He never called to ask for clarification on taxable vs taxable income. This resulted in a tax on non-taxable income, PLUS, he tacked on a 20% penalty for me. If he wasn't sure, he should have called. But he guessed and guessed wrong. If I had not caught the mistake, it would have cost me over $8,000 between Feds and State. He was "kind enough" to do the amendment at no charge. Now, due to COVID backlog at IRS, I've been waiting over 40 weeks for my amended return. Thanks Jerry! He also did not follow my instructions on a small business we run out of the house.
