I'm a 74 year old male with severe walking problems and was looking for a system for my gates, driveway, and doors to my home. I researched a company by the name of DoorBird whose system would fit those needs and found very good reviews. My next challenge was to find a company who could install and service this for me. I researched 3 companies and ended up choosing Dorland. The beginning process seemed to go well even though they were the most expensive, as I was looking for quality and service. When they came out for a bid they told me that all the cables should be run through PVC with CAT 5 wiring. I said fine as I don't want any problems. The installation was smooth and well done by their technician Jorge. Everything was fine up until that point BUT THAT'S WHEN EVERYTHING CHANGED. About three months later the main gate quit working not allowing us to hear anyone from the front. I called Dorland and they took over a week to fix it and wanted to charge me on work that was done less than 3 months ago. That's when I discovered this whole job that cost me almost $10,000 was only covered for 90 days compared with the other companies that we're both 1 year. They agreed not to charge me but then the same thing happened again. They proceeded to tell me they they needed to do more work $400 and it would be over two weeks before they could get this done. During this whole time I tried reaching Cory several times who is the owner and he never returned my call once. I then called the manufacturer and got a hold of a very cooperative gentleman by the name of Dean. He assured me he'd get to the bottom of this. He called me back with a new tech who came out to look at my problem and within 10 minutes solved the loose wire connection. His cost was a $175.00 well worth it even though this should have be covered by the original company. I have since been told that the company was sold and they are NO LONGER ALLOWED TO SELL DOORBIRD PRODUCTS. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS THEY OFFER NO SERVICE ONLY LIP SERVICE. Marc J
Had a loud alarm going off and no idea how to turn it off. I called and Jonathan remembered everything about our system and walked me through the steps to turn off the alarm. He saved our Friday night! Thank you Jonathan! You are the best!
