When this office first opened, their phones never worked, could not get through. Now today the Optum donor portal is down. The page comes up white. And I broke my foot 5 weeks ago, I have been waiting 4 weeks for a referral to an orthopedic specialist. They have sent me 3 referrals over the past 4 weeks to the same dr. who does not do feet, which I keep telling them. It was a sad day when the wonderful Dr. Traughber sold out to this 2 bit sh_t show.
I've been seeing Dr. Chow for about 10 years, since I switched from Kaiser to Blue Shield, and was assigned to him be default. I have never been super impressed, but after a few disappointing experiences I have decided to move on to a new doctor after doing some research. I have had allergies and asthma my whole life, and he tried prescribing a few ineffective prescriptions before realizing he needed to refer me to a specialist. Coming from Kaiser, I didn't realize that I needed to ask for a more experienced doctor for those issues, but he should have known and sent me sooner. My most recent frustrating experience was when I had a very irritating and scary looking rash on my face. My allergy specialist doctor suggested that it was eczema and gave me a treatment. When that failed, I went to Dr. Chow who laughed when I said that my allergy doctor had said it was eczema, but he also couldn't tell me what it was and to put hydrocortisone cream on it. When I asked for a referral to see a dermatologist since I had been suffering with this painful rash for two months, he said to come back in two weeks to get a physical and then he would give me a referral. I was very frustrated at this point that he couldn't help me and wouldn't send me to someone who could. At this point I called blue shield, told them my situation, then they followed up to ask for my dermatologist referral. When I finally saw a dermatologist, she said the hydrocortisone cream probably made it worse, and it also was not eczema. I now have learned how important it is to see a specialist for most health issues, and Dr. Chow should be quicker to refer to the patients to the correct doctor. The only pro I can offer for this doctor is that I have always been able to get an appointment quickly. But I have not had a great experience with him as my primary... time for a change.
