About Chen Art Gallery (please call to schedule a tour)
The Chen Art Gallery is a non-profit museum showcasing an impressive collection of Chinese art in the United States. Located within Sunrider International, the gallery features over 1,000 artifacts and artworks spanning 5,000 years of Chinese history. Visitors can take a complimentary 90-120 minute guided tour to learn about the rich cultural heritage and achievements of China. The gallery is a hidden gem for art enthusiasts, offering a varied collection of contemporary Asian art, thought-provoking displays, and informed staff. The gallery provides a unique and culturally enlightening experience. The collection is the largest outside of Asia, with many artifacts dating back thousands of years. The docents and employees are incredibly nice and accommodating, and they are happy to answer any questions visitors might have. The tour is an hour and a half long, and even young students find it very interesting and engaging. The gallery also features a large collection of Picasso sketches and other European art, making it a must-visit destination for art lovers.
It is a very impressive personal collection of Chinese artifacts outside of China, I would believe. How they are displayed in the gallery maked it easy (for me) to understand the variety of pieces presented. Our tour guide, Holly, was great with our Metro On the Move Riders Club Group from AARP Ch 5117.
