If you need to find caregivers for your loved one, you are already in a stressful situation. Even if you have pre-planned for these circumstances. Being in the trenches is a shock. You need the right team. When my father passed away suddenly, I quickly realized how much he had been doing for my mom. Keeping her living independently would require me to find in-home care. I knew I wanted to hire caregivers from a licensed agency. But where to find one?? On the recommendation of friends, I used the service "A Place for Mom." That service gave me the names of several caregiver agencies. After going through some initial screening assessments with various agencies, I selected 24-hour Home Care. This was based on their pricing (an inclusive hourly rate vs others that had all sorts of adds-on per service). And mostly due to their reputation for paying their caregivers more than other agencies. I felt strongly about this. I appreciated what a tough job caregiving can be. I hoped a fair rate of compensation would attract and retain strong candidates. My experience with 24 Hour Home Care confirmed this. I have used 24 Hour Home Care exclusively since January of 2022. Mom and I have been highly satisfied with their service. We have an excellent rapport with Daisy, the Staffing Manager for our area. Daisy has done an exceptional job of finding caregivers who are an outstanding "fit" for our needs and family. We started with a single day shift caregiver 3 days a week. As mom's needs progressed, we added hours and caregivers. We ended up with two day shift caregivers and two night shift caregivers. Her caregivers Penny, Katrina, Jackie and Fay earned our highest recommendations. They delivered trustworthy, caring, responsible and compassionate support for both me and my mom. 24 Hour Home Care gives you access to caregivers who can do the job and become a welcome companion for your family member. If the caregiver can't make their shift due to an emergency or an appointment of their own, 24 Hour Home Care can schedule a substitute. This is an essential benefit! Things happen, but your family member will still need care. In most families, one person usually ends up managing the care and support for the family member in need. One of the hardest lessons of caring for your family member in need is that you must take care of yourself before you can take care of others. You might have an emergency too! Using 24 Hour Home Care gives you a whole agency of experienced caregivers and support staff to access and will help you avoid burnout. You need the right caregiver agency in your corner. 24 Hour Home Care helps you do a hard job with confidence.
I recently was discharged from the Long Beach Memorial Hospital. What several people have said was an unsafe discharge and needed caregiving service. 24 Hour Home Care provided wonderful 2 caregivers which I highly recommend. Angelina and Lilliana were both so caring and professional and I felt so safe and I was so happy that they were there my first week. I had no idea what caregivers were supposed to do and they took over. I didn't have to ask them to do anything they just did it. I'm not a person who likes to ask for help or likes anyone in my home doing things for me but I was completely comfortable with both of them. I have a 90 pound golden retriever and a cat and both my animals love them and they love my animals and that was most important to me. They kept my kitchen clean and the house cleaned up which was a mess because I didn't expect I was going into the hospital. When I came home from the hospital, I wasn't feeling like myself. I felt I was still under the influence of the anesthesia and drugs, so I was kind of dizzy and depressed and they were so patient and understanding- it made all the difference for me. Choosing a caregiving services hard and having somebody come into your house that you don't know is scary. These two women made me feel so safe. I basically sat there and cried the whole time they were there, not from pain, But from depression because I was afraid and they were there, and they understood and they made me feel good. That's what you want from a caregiver.
