“Took my dog here a few times when I had just got her as a puppy years ago to get her shots, neutered, etc. after having a really bad experience at another local vet. I felt very uncomfortable based on a few things that occurred leaving me to not trust the vet there so I got my records from them and immediately decided to take her here instead. My experience was amazing every time and it was half the price of what the other vet was trying to charge as they also claimed she had something wrong with her without running any tests (she didn't and they were just basing things off of a google search in-front of me which is what made me feel very unsettled). I ended up moving out of the area for a few years, but recently moved back and my dog had symptoms of a UTI so I decided to come back here yesterday. Once again, another great experience and this will definitely be my go-to vet. They were all absolutely great with my dog (she absolutely loved it there) and I like that they're very upfront about how much everything will cost without trying to get you to buy things that aren't necessary like other vets I've been to. They've also renovated since last time I was here years ago, looks great!“

“The staff was very welcoming and friendly. I felt secure allowing them to handle and examine my ball python. One of the male technicians was very informative on reptiles and helped answer all my questions. The doctor is very knowledgeable in exotics and it is a relief that this location is close to my home. My family started with Dr. James Sharp when I was a child, way before he opened his own practice, then we followed him to his current location and have been happily with them all these years and through many a pet. Melanie, Maria and both Dr Sharps have always treated us like family. I would not, and have not ever taken my animals anywhere else. “Tags is the best and most affordable vet I know. The clinic is run by honest hardworking people who charge nominal fees for 5-star service. Dr. Nastro and his team truly care about the animals. They take the time to explain everything and answer all questions. My dog had an urgent issue and we couldn't afford to take him anywhere else. Dr. Nastro and his team recognized the urgency of the situation and accommodated us, even though this meant that him and his staff had to stay at work for 2 additional hours after the clinic closed to finish their work. I am very grateful that they were able to squeeze us in at the last minute, the day before the holiday weekend. They are closed 12/23/23-1/1/24. It's also great to know that they take walk-in vaccinations for only $20 each.“

Other places want you to run so many test and think your a bank. “I had to say goodbye to my beautiful dog Jasper this week, at the age of 16 1/2. And I'm heartbroken. But I wanted to take the time to write this review of Dr. A and all the people at Balboa Veterinary Medical Ctr. Dr. A. gave Jasper an extra year and a half of good quality life that we didn't think he'd get. We almost lost him at age 15 and Dr. A saved his life by correctly diagnosing a problem we didn't know he had, and getting him on a medication that got him walking again. Every time we went there, the women in the front of the office always treated him with care and kindness, and Dr. A was always responsive to questions that came up. I live a 20 minute drive from this office, but decided to come here instead of a closer vet for the past few years. It started with an emergency where we couldn't get in at any closer vet clinic, and I was so happy with the treatment we got there, that I continued to use Dr. A as our vet from that point on.“

“Poet had a great experience: she's very uneasy about new settings, but everybody made her feel entirely safe and loved ?? They were able to surgically repair her hip and give her physical therapy with their underwater treadmill. Thanks to Laura and Sarah for working with her and getting her back to her energetic self. She no longer has to use her wheelchair!“

“I really wish people were more considerate when leaving reviews since many of us look to them for experiences and guidance and make sure they’re specific to the care they received. My review is mainly for the neurology department. My dog was diagnosed with IVDD. I was told by my vet to contact ACCESS for neurology to have an MRI done to see what’s going on with him. When I showed up for my appointment, the staff helped me carry my boy in since it hurts him to walk around. The reason for our visit was the amount of pain he was in, painful to sit, painful to walk. He couldn’t shake anymore, was walking with his head lowered, and started to buckle his right paw when he would stand. Dr. Egnor was kind and thorough. She explained everything to us and what she believed is going on and later called us back to review MRI results which confirmed everything we discussed earlier. He had a herniated disk in his neck that was pushing on his nerves causing pain. They scheduled him for surgery the next morning. I’m so grateful for this team and knew I was making the right decision trusting him with their hands. Front desk was great too. I asked my bank for a credit increase which they did but not to the amount I had requested. I was short on my bill and the team let me pay a lower amount to ensure I was able to cover surgery for the next day. My favorite thing was that Dr. Egnor consulted with others on her team to confirm what she believed was the issue and right course of action. It felt like a team diagnosis.Day of surgery: Dr. Egnor called me before to explain things and shared how he did the night before. Tony texted me before surgery was about to begin. The surgery took a long time, I think about 4 hours? but Dr. Egnor called me as soon as she wrapped up so I wouldn’t worry. She let me know that she didn’t find anything weird and that they got a lot of disk material out. Everything else went well and they kept him overnight to make sure he was doing okay, breathing well, walking on his own, etc. He ate dinner and I called overnight to check on him and they said he was doing well, just sleepy and that he had walked with some support. Communicationhas been great overall.Pick up: Dr. Egnor called in the morning and let me know I could go see him around 1:30 and if he was feeling good he would be able to go home later that day. They also let me drop off a t-shirt that he could keep after surgery. When I went to visit him, everyone was very loving towards him and he was happy to see me and moving around. He looked so good and happy and wasn’t in pain anymore. I’m so so so grateful. He’s at home now and recovering. I bought him a play pen to keep him confined. He’s eating and taking his meds well. I’ll update this in a few weeks with how he’s doing.“
