Been long overdue to bring a coat to be dry cleaned. I've walked/driven by this spot many times and decided to give it a try. The man working there is quiet and a man of a few words (also I don't think he speaks much English), but he is super nice. The turn around time for me to pick up my coat was fine, price was reasonable and they did a great job. Glad to have stumbled upon this place for my dry cleaning needs. Always happy to support local businesses, so give it a chance. Highly recommend and don't forget, cash only!
The storefront cleaners has a very modest exterior and a tiny interior space , and the owner's English is not as articulate, but his services are superior which deserve at least five stars. Having done business with better known tailors and cleaners when living in San Francisco, where prices are higher, I had to take the time to give top rating for this shop. I was staying at a nearby hotel, until my new home acquisition is finalized. I chose this cleaners and alteration shop as it was the closest to where I was staying. I needed a newly purchased fully lined dress with side pockets to be altered by reducing the width of the skirt portion. I brought in the dress on early afternoon Thursday. He candidly did not promise to retain the pockets without charging more. I did admit that the dress cost more than the anticipated cost of alterations, but I liked it enough to pay for the alternations anyway. He added that the dress would be ready by Monday. However, to my surprise, he called the next day, Friday, and said that the dress alteration was finished and ready to pick up. His place is too small with no accommodations to try on any outfit. It is best to already know where you want the alterations made and how much. I tried on the dress later Friday evening. His masterly skill enabled the dress to fit beautifully and the pockets were retained. For me, his alteration cost was very reasonable, as I know how much more the same service would have cost in San Francisco or even other San Mateo towns, and taken longer. For anyone traveling into South San Francisco with clothing to be cleaned or altered within a short amount of time, try South City Cleaners unless he is overloaded with other orders. However, be prepared to pay in cash. He accepts no credit. In my experiences, I found that many locally owned businesses accepting only cash also have lower prices on services.
Up'd my star ratings for this business strictly because the owner (I'm assuming he's the owner) rates you at reasonable prices for dry cleaning. I dropped off 3 Jackets @ $7.50 a pair and 2 Dress pants @ $6.50 each. Other dry cleaners in this area I come to find charge nearly twice as much to dry clean a jacket. Dropped off my clothes Thursday @ 11:05am and the agreed pick up was for Monday.
