Fantastic service. Robert and I discussed the issue, and he arrived with the right part, and after a couple confirmatory diagnostic tests he had our drier up and running again. Along the way he showed me ways to clean and maintain it, and even coached me through fixing my own dishwasher - which now works without rinsing! They were busy so I waited a week for the appointment… totally worth the wait. Highly recommend.
I’ve known Robert for at least 30 years. He and his wife are professional & provide exceptional service. Robert knows his stuff & will make time for you if you’re in a jam. When my parents retired here, I recommended Coastal Appliance & they were stoked to find someone trustworthy, super knowledgeable, kind, funny & honest! He goes the extra mile. I’ve recommended Coastal Appliance many times as I know they’re a quality company & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them again at anytime. Thanks Coastal! Holly Hamner : )
Well, holy smacks! We've been having serious problems with our 25+ year old Bosch gas range as one by one, the stovetop burners grew more and more anemic (e.g.: I put a pot of water on for pasta one night and 25 minutes later it STILL had not come to a boil!). Crawling through the appliance service reviews here on Yelp, even highly rated companies inevitably seem to have at least a handful of one star reviews with horror stories of repairs not completed, service calls missed, phone messages not returned. Except one. Every single review posted for this mom and pop service has nothing but positive things to say, often with praise for owner Robert's generous dispensing of his experience, knowledge, and sage advice. So, I phoned. Shortly after 5:0 PM on a Friday. The woman who takes the calls (spouse?) was certainly friendly; didn't seem to mind a cold call right at the extreme edge of business hours heading into the weekend. When I explained the problem, she regretfully informed me they "don't work on Bosch any more" and gave me the numbers of a couple other places to try. Out of curiosity, I asked why. Is parts availability a problem? Difficult company to work with? What? She said she didn't know, but she would pass the phone to Robert. OK, to the chase. I didn't even get the chance to ask my question. HE asked me what the issue was, quickly told me what the cause is in Bosch ranges of that vintage, and verbally walked me through a simple fix involving that specialized tool, the straightened paper clip, adding a caution about what NOT to do which would make matters worse. No in home service call, diagnostic fee, two week wait for parts. Total elapsed time: +/- 20 minutes. Cash out of pocket: $00. Will I call Coastal again? Oh, hell yes.
