Dr. Xie is the best chinese medicine doctor I've ever had - and this is me speaking on the basis of trying several chinese medicine doctors over the years in both china and the US. She has been educated both in China and the US on chinese medicine, acupuncture, and toxicology. She was able to explain my symptoms both in chinese and modern western medicine terms. Although I was only able to see her for a few weeks (I moved away from SD), my symptom reduction was visible. She truly listened to my concerns and would carefully adjust my prescription every week. I have been seeing Joann for acupuncture for over 8 months now. She is a highly knowledgeable and skilled acupuncturist who cares and has your best interests in mind always. Her goal is not to keep you as a patient long term, it is to get you well and your body strong to hold on its own. She encourages lengthening the time between sessions and doesn't hesitate to advise when treatment is no longer needed. I referred my house mate to her for a swollen ankle and after a handful of sessions they were complete. In my case, however, we are treating chronic and sometimes acute back pain that began over 30 years ago. The progress has been remarkable and we have since began focusing our attention on healing in other areas (i.e. digestive issues, spleen and lung health, and a recent foot injury, neuroma, from running). Over the years I have seen 3 other acupuncturists for my back pain and I have never gotten results as with Joann. Accomplished, knowledgeable, caring, and integrity. I highly recommend her!
