Love the Pilates classes, the studio, ALL the teachers, and fellow students. Sierra Fitness is a great place to workout! Plus the teachers are interested in each person's fitness journey and will work around injuries. It's been a long year of rehab for my back injury but Pilates was the ticket.
I just completed my third private training session with Gabby and I couldn't be happier with my experience. I've been sitting on the sofa for far too long and it's time to get active again. Gabby has a background in nursing and physical therapy and knows exactly how to lead me through an hour-long session that leaves me feeling energized, not sore and damaged. She will continue to help me with one-on-one, assisted-stretching sessions while I enjoy Pilates, core fitness, and yoga classes to build my strength and improve my flexibility. Sierra Fitness has that charming Sierra Madre vibe and I'm looking forward to more gym time. Now that I'm back to my college weight, Sierra Fitness will help me recover a sculpted midsection and perky bum!
After running 6+ miles daily outdoors for 18 months during the pandemic I came to Sandy with a torn IT band, tight hips and lower back issues. I hadn't slept comfortably in months. At my doctors recommendation (post MRI), I sought out pilates classes to compliment my rehab. I have been taking Sandy's Pro Pilates classes 4 days a week and Classic Pilates 1-2 days a week. Both pilates classes use reformers (not mat classes). I love the Pro Pilates. It's a killer low impact workout that does not strain my back or stress my body in a harmful manner. Because of Pro, I will never go back to a bootcamp again. The Pro Pilates should actually be called "The Waist Cincher." The Classic classes stretch and align- but don't be fooled- they are tough! After 6 months of sticking to Sierra Fitness Pilates classes I am back to running 6 miles every other day and running long distances on weekends- pain free and my pace is slowly creeping back up to my top conditioning times. I am sleeping better and no longer have hip pain and only mild back discomfort (due to normal wear and tear). Physically, my body is stronger and toned. Fitness has been Sandy's craft for a long time and she knows what she is doing. She and her staff have handled my rehab with care all while still challenging me to improve my balance, fitness and flexibility. Final great thing...many Pilates classes in Monrovia and Pasadena begin classes after 8am. That just doesn't work and is so out of touch. Pro Pilates classes begin daily at 5:30 am. This works for me as I am a working mom that needs to get in my daily workout regiment before my household wakes up, take my child to school and go to a physical office.
