We wanted to take advantage of LADWP's turf removal rebate, and figured it would be a good time to have the entire front and back yard relandscaped. A friend had their property relandscaped by GRL; I liked the look of what they had done, and decided to go with the same firm.Our general wishes were to have something drought-tolerant, reasonably low maintenance, and able to accommodate a high energy dog. We didn't have a lot of detailed ideas about specific plants or layouts, but did mention a few general preferences, including a wish for a dry streambed and a general fondness for boulders. Green Republic did a wonderful job of creating and installing a wonderful drought-tolerant, low-maintenance plan for both our front and back yards. Very professional, listened to our needs, and just all-around nice people to work with.
Our backyard was in need of a redo: We struggled to grow grass, and we wanted a space that would accommodate a trampoline and a small garden, as well as a dining table and sitting area, but still feel green and lush. After meeting with a few landscapers who suggested we get rid of the trampoline, rip up our existing brick patio and put pavers everywhere, we met Alisa from Motti's team. As a landscape designer, she really listened to what we wanted, and had great ideas for how to incorporate it all, as well as suggestions for garden planters and furniture.
