“I have experienced the benefits of Oshana's literally healing arts for different reasons over at least a decade. She is an experienced physical therapist, who I originally visited following an injury, but she is also a practitioner of many approaches to body work. She really excels at devising a program suited to individual needs, is super perceptive about pain and movement, and is very practiced at prescribing methods to increase mobility and strength. So grateful for the all the help she has given me, and now look forward to attending some of her group sessions! Highly reccommend Oshana!“
“I love Jenise! I think she's changed my life, I'm stronger both mentally and physically after 9 months working with her. She's a positive force and the ultimate hype woman. Her studio is a welcoming space for whatever I have going on, whether my kids tag along, my pup or my sleep deprived cranky energy is with following me around. I leave class lighter, straighter and filled with more self love. And results!!! Always fun with your husband, your colleagues and your mom start noticing your posture and/or your new booty! Thanks Jenise! Love you!“
“Had a great experience here! Instructors are super friendly and knowledgable. Highly recommend.“
“SIM is a very unique pole dance studio where you are encouraged to focus on movement that feels good to your body instead of focusing on how you look in your movement (there are no mirrors). This place is very special to me as it’s a space where I can truly unplug after a long day of work and leave feeling rejuvenated. The studio has amazing teachers who teaches with so much heart and are very supportive. This movement is much more than just pole dancing and how you choose to experience it is entirely up to your choosing. Thank you to everyone at SIM who has created and continues to hold this safe and judgement free space while honoring the fact that we are all on our own unique journeys.“
“I had bad pain down the back of my legs and especially behind my knees. I spent a year going to doctors and to their referrals for neurology tests, MRIs, sonograms, x-rays, blood work-ups, back specialists, PT and acupuncture. Nothing helped and they could not determine what was causing the pain. I finally gave up on them and went to see Mike. He spent the time to ask me questions and analyzed my walk and posture. He worked with me on different exercises which I continue to perform daily. Within 6 sessions my pain was gone. It's been three months, and I feel great. I had spent a miserable year with pain and Mike was the only one who asked the right questions and listened when I described the pain and when I would feel it the most. I am finally able to stand and cook without pain; I can sleep through the night and again enjoy doing things I had stopped participating in due to the discomfort. Thank you, Mike!“
“Justin's expertise and tailored approach to Pilates have been instrumental in alleviating my chronic knee pain. His deep understanding of biomechanics and rehabilitation techniques sets his practice apart, providing me with effective solutions that I haven't found elsewhere. I highly recommend Justin's Pilates practice to anyone seeking holistic and personalized care for their physical well-being.“
“I'm a newbie to Pilates and have had a wonderful experience at Raven. The instructors are very knowledgeable and Tiffany is very responsive. The studio space is also great. If you are intimidated by Pilates, this is the best place to immerse yourself in the practice- you'll be met with gentle guidance and a lot of patience. Highly recommended experience!“
“My health took a turn where I did not expect it. After some research and discussion with my physical therapist Pilates was recommended. After digging through bios and reviews there were several incredibly positive reviews from Miquel so I booked my initial assessment with him- it aligned with everything I just learned with what my body is doing from PT. I believe as a newcomer you need some private sessions to understand the foundation, form and technique so I'm purchasing a few sessions to trial. (Also my life in the bay is temporary otherwise I would commit to something more long term.) I still have a lot to learn but so far I've noticed this training method is very core and form specific. Slow and controlled learning how to move my body better and prevent injury. It leaves me on the struggle bus because my body is just torn down and in strength training the approach is different depending on the movement. Although this journey just started for me I can tell and appreciate Miquel for really knowing his craft. He is personable and patient as there are some movements I don't quite comprehend and need extra instruction and he remains calm.“
“Jill Harris is an amazing trainer, and her development of FitSprings takes exercise -- any kind of technique! -- to the next level and beyond. As someone who has studied ballet since childhood and practices yoga, working out on FitSprings lets me strengthen without being tight and heavy, and builds flexibility and my quick-twitch muscles while keeping my joints and muscles happy, healthy, and well-stimulated. (Never strained -- ever.) There isn't another workout that compares. I just attended Jill's teacher training this weekend, and the possibilities with this equipment are truly endless. I can't praise or recommend Jill Harris and FitSprings enough.“
“I had my first class at IFP with Marianne. I've had classes with Marianne at another studio. First, Marianne is a wonderful teacher. Although she teaches a class with others, she will provide individualized attention to each person. She is so warm and kind. I can't recommend her enough! Second, I love the feel of this studio. It's has a calm feel to it. The reformers are also amazing. 5 stars all around! Can't wait to come back.“
“I have been taking personal training and small group classes at Powerplaysf since July 2023 and I have had such a great experience. Shout out to Kwanua, Daniel, Fabi, Jen, and Pudji in particular! What is amazing to me is that they offer exceptional individualized and personalized service while at the same time offering a wide variety of classes and approaches to personal training so you can experiment and switch things up. For example, I have done one on one boxing, Pilates, and weight training and small group strength and conditioning, Trx, yoga, boxing, and Pilates classes. All of the personal training and small group classes have been excellent. I've also had to travel quite a bit for work and they have been very flexible letting me make up sessions and classes or even doing personal training remotely. A few highlights: I have been taking a one on one boxing class with Fabi for several months. She is an excellent instructor/trainer. As a former overweight, uncoordinated kid, who tended to shy away from any kind of exercise that seemed "too complicated" I'm amazed by my progress! I have also been taking a Trx small group class from Daniel for several months. He is also an excellent instructor. I was definitely a little intimidated by the class description and the word "athlete," but Daniel has done such a great job encouraging me to perform my best. It feels great at 36 to really do something out of my comfort zone. I would highly recommend powerplay!“
“If you are looking for one on one pilates instruction I highly recommend Carmen Zeni. And if you haven't considered it I would encourage trying it. I am starting my third year of pilates with Carmen. I am an athlete; played college tennis and still do. Pilates - is critical to my ability, at 74, to play singles 2,3 times a week. And to work on my overall strength and flexibility and posture. Carmen has a rare combination deep pilates knowledge, knowledge of the human body and people skills. My flexibility and body strength has increased since I started and Carmen has been great helping me rehab from various injuries when needed. Her studio has great gear including a reformer, trapeze table and core align. If you want to learn pilates or expand your work Carmen's studio wonderful.“
“Working with Teacher Hye Yeon is like a breath of fresh air. She is calm yet extremely passionate about serving and helping those she can. She uses her knowledge and experience with pilates to do so.I wasn't sure what to expect when I had my first class (Sept 2023) but I left with such valuable information about focusing on elongating my breath work and adjusting my posture. Not only is she knowledgable and quick to notice small, important details about the body, I personally love having teachers who genuinely enjoy what they do and are happy to share their enthusiasm with others. Even just 10-mins with Teacher Hye Yeon will brighten your day. Her kindness, work ethic, and passion makes her a hidden gem. Anyone would be lucky to call Hye Yeon their teacher and friend!“
“I took my first Pilates class more than 20 years ago, but was never able to afford more than one lesson per week in the Private model, and I always found classes to be too generic. I have dreamt of being able to find a place where I could truly learn the exercises, and The Pilates School SF is that place. I started in January of 2023 and I am forever grateful for my journey here. I have no more back pain, and have uncovered and resolved pain that was so deep inside my body, I didn't even notice it until it was gone. I have gone from feeling like I wish I knew what I was doing to being confident that I not only know what I am doing, but I know why I am doing it. I can do any exercises they put on me, and I can also design my own workouts based on what my body needs. It is incredible to know myself so well and to be able to trust myself. In addition to the Pilates, the people here are incredible. Yes, the instructors are awesome, but so are the clients. I love my classmates and feel so supported and happy whenever I am at the school. This is the best Classical Pilates in the city, and it is so affordable.“
“This is a wonderful place to rehabilitate a serious injury. I have made remarkable progress under their supervision.“
“The Pad is a great studio! I like it because it is close to my house, parking is relatively easy and they offer many different classes everyday. I feel like post-covid, many yoga studios only offer a couple of classes a day and I appreciate having more options. It is a very calm and relaxing environment and folks of all levels are welcomed and challenged. The teachers range from very good to really freakin' awesome - there are a couple who clearly know their stuff and have a lot of experience to share.“
“Kathleen is one of those caregivers that you don't encounter very often. She is highly skilled and educated in her craft of physical therapy and Pilates and is equally adept in putting you at ease, listening to your needs, and offering a nurturing environment while she is providing excellent care for you. I will never go to another physical therapist because I know that the care I receive from her is unmatched. Also of note is her highly capable and friendly staff. The entire atmosphere is welcoming and professional. If I could give 10 out of 10 stars I would but they only allow 5!“
“I love EHS. I'm not usually a "sporty" person and don't consider myself to be very flexible or athletic, but I've enjoyed all the classes I've taken at EHS. There is a fun, low-key vibe and the classes tend to be small so you get individual attention. I recommend their sequences of classes for beginners so you can sample different contraptions, and I especially recommend classes with Corie and Olivia.“
“Bright studio, friendly ommunity atmosphere. Skilled trainers will customize specifically for your needs. Lots of laughter“
“Sonya is an ace. I'd recommend working with her to anyone who is lucky enough to have the chance.I've been Sonya's student since 2019 and treat my time with Sonya as a self-care gift I give myself. I not only learn to move better physically but also become more appreciative and increasingly aware of how my body moves.I find Sonya to be an incredibly knowledgeable teacher who can break down parts of a movement to micro details that help you see simple exercises in new, eye-opening ways. For example, Sonya's instructions on how to do a simple bridge exercise are so detailed and systematic that I can now be attentive to the groups of muscles I engage in each step of doing a bridge including how and when to breathe. So when I do it on my own, I know I can do a bridge correctly and mindfully. This example may sound very simple, but the value to me is that even the basic and possibly mundane exercises become mindful movements that I understand and enjoy. And with that, I am more likely to keep exercising. As Sonya’s student I have never felt pushed to do things I may not want to or be ready for. She checks in with me every time and thoughtfully designs the session to work with me where I am that day. At the same time, she can be very tough in teaching me how to do the exercises correctly. She will relentlessly explain in different ways to make sure I get it. It’s easy to see she is passionate about what she teaches and cares a great deal about her students’ learning.Sonya’s a great teacher and it is my privilege to learn from her.“
“Holly ‘s experience as an educator, author and teacher is extensive, global and multi faceted. She has a rare combination of gifts that will come to excellent use for all of us teachers in her new venture as a Pilates business consultant and industry coach: vision, empathy and a lifetime of business and marketing acumen. Holly at Blue Sparrow is unequivocally honest and always had that intangible cool factor that we all want and that you can’t fake. She will see what makes you - you and give you the confidence to realize just that—a biz with soul.“
“Took a transformational class with Eric today. Great blend of movement, mantras, and music. I left feeling relaxed -mind and body :)“
“For the past 18 months, my husband and I have scheduled private sessions with Raisa and Rachel every week. My spouse had MS and wanted to focus on balance concerns, whereas I had just turned 50 and had the upperbody strength of a newborn kitten. It's a really nonjudgmental environment with clients of different shapes and ages. I was hesitant at first to do pilates because I hadn't worked out in a decade, so performing a plank was impossible. Raisa and Rachel seemed to intuitively recognize our skills and motivated us with realistic movements. This was our first experience scheduling private sessions of any kind, but it has proven to be ideal for us because Raisa and Rachel personalize each session to whatever discomfort or pain we are experiencing that week. We are also the only ones in the studio during our session, making it genuinely private. If you have a stiff shoulder in the middle of a session, they have the depth and breadth of understanding to identify the muscle in question and immediately shift you to an optimum exercise. Hubs and I were both in physical therapy for different reasons, and Raisa and Rachel had no trouble adapting and changing movements as needed. I had no idea how much core strength I had gained until I started crossfit a year after starting PIlates and was able to execute (and excel) at every core exercise with my CF trainer.“
“After Cheryl showed me some specific exercises to do on the Cadillac machine, my sacrum/SI joints have never felt better. I feel like I had a successful surgery that made the problem go away for longer than it has in the past. Even after chiropractic adjustments, the joints go in and out of place with a sneeze or rolling over during sleep, or driving. It's been 2 days since I saw you and it's still going! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I could cry just knowing that there could be a solution to the daily discomfort and pain I have with sitting and most activities due to those joints (and others) constantly subluxating. I have a lot of mobility issues, injuries and pain due to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Pilates is the one form of exercise I can do that helps instead of hurts me. I highly recommend classes or private lessons with Cheryl to help you get your strength and life back!“
“Shirley has been amazing. She has helped me strengthen my core and work on proper body positioning. Each time i leave feeling accomplished and can't wait for our next appointment. I feel better during and after a long day of work thanks to her. As much as I'd like to keep her a secret she is amazing at what she does and the knowledge she gives.“

“I live in New York and I love my Pilates sessions with Sid in CA!Long story short, in 2020 I started doing duet sessions with a friend from Sausalito, and although exercising on zoom had not been my thing, I loved and missed Pilates, so I gave it a try. I am so happy I did, Sidney is a fantastic instructor and I advanced more with her on zoom than in the studio over past years. She is great at keeping the pace of a duet session, yet making sure our individual needs are met and adapting the flow as needed to incorporate specific exercises that may be beneficial to our sometimes aging achey bodies. She truly cares about proper Pilates form, flow and transitions, and keeps you on your toes with little tweaks here and there. I've been lucky to also do private sessions and during those Sid is great at workshopping moves that have been challenging to me, breaking them down in 'babysteps'. I have truly advanced and got stronger over the past few years and I have Sid to thank for that! Her passion for Pilates is contagious, as is her kindness. I am so happy to have met her!“
