I've purchased training sessions as gifts for others in the past through Groupon, and glad I decided to go for it myself to see what it's all about. Joe & Chyna are the trainers - I'm currently training with Chyna, and she's great! She demonstrates how a particular exercise needs to be done, she helps you with your form, how to breathe, and pushes you to complete the exercise when you're struggling towards the end. She told me about BCAAs for muscle recovery (best thing ever!) and is knowledgeable when it comes to the foods you need to eat that are specific to your goals. I finished 7 of my 10 sessions, and while getting up to train at 5:30am is a struggle, I'm always...read full review
I've just started training here in the past couple weeks and I love it!! I had previously worked out in a smaller gym that held group classes but since I run a daycare and wanted as little exposure to coronavirus as possible I decided to check out some other places. Looked around & G.I. Joe's was the best fit for me so I decided to try it. I feel like I've gotten better workouts in with him than I ever did in the circuit gym in the past couple years. Joe is so nice & great at communicating. On top of all that his rates are so incredibly reasonable I can't believe how much I'm saving!
I am a marathon runner, I run anywhere from 30 - 50 miles per week. So why do I need a personal trainer? I need balance, I need motivation to cross train, I need knowledge/expertise/direction on precision of form... I realized that I am far to over trained on cardio and lack the strength and muscle development that comes from HIIT cardio (very different from long slow cardio!) and strength training. So I started looking for a trainer and came across a way to reasonable Groupon offer from GI Joe, so nothing to lose right?! One session in and I am hooked! This is the guy that I need to drive me out of my routine, push me to be the better version that I am seeking, this is what I want. Now hear that, I want it... The fact of life is that we all "need" movement, exercise, health in our lives; but the real difference in the factor of success is if you "want" it. If you want something, you come to win, you bring your A game, you push through the fatigue because that is just your mind playing games with you. Our bodies our way stronger then our minds ever will be. So if you want gains, if you want to see success, if you are willing to bring it and you want it... this is DEFINITELY your guy too. He is not only an amazing motivator, but he is knowledgeable and makes sure form is right, weight amount is right, reps are right... all the critical components of getting in a good workout and not injuring yourself doing it. Will you be sore? Hell yes! Will you love it? If you want it! Train hard or go home! Enough said. Definitely give it a go, you won't regret it!
