“We recently purchased a home in Thousand Oaks and wanted a custom, built-in cabinet/bookcase for our living room to display books, family pictures and decorative items. Using Yelp as a guide, I contacted 6 local, custom cabinet makers to bid on the job. Five of them asked me to send pictures and dimensions of the space and told me they couldn't come out to see the job but would instead send an estimate with diagram if I provided measurements of the space. One company made an appointment to visit my home and discuss the project in person. Just a few days later, Ray and Casey Andrews came to my home, took pictures and measurements of the space, and discussed my project in great detail. These gentlemen are craftsmen and finish carpenters of the highest caliber. They submitted drawings and a cost estimate within two days after our meeting. Their pricing was fair -- a little more than some, less than others. Matt Mason runs a great shop and delivers quality cabinets for a very reasonable price (about the same as the pre-fab cabinets that HD and Lowes sell, which are not custom and end up with too many compromises). “A year ago I purchased a new condo with very modern finishes that were often manufactured materials. I hired Ernesto and his fabulous people at Showcase Kitchen and Bath in Woodland Hills.... David was my foreman and Melissa was my designer to create my dream kitchen, master bathroom, powder room bath, and fireplace, as well as add special lighting and accessories to the other bathrooms and around the condo. Every detail was done in a timely manner with the utmost professionalism. Melissa and Ernesto listened to all my wishes and incorporated them beautifully, also respecting my own design taste when I chose certain items. We worked as a fine team to create not a condo, but a home. The estimated cost for the project stayed pretty close to budget except where I made changes and most important and I must say a first for me, David kept the timeframe to exactly the week he promised completion. He gave me a spread sheet with exactly when things would be done and stayed to that spread sheet. My past experiences had been months outside the timeframe promised with costs skyrocketing, often double the original price figure. I love my home and everyone that comes by comments on the quality and the fact it truly is a home in this big city. I would recommend them for sure! David is unbelievably nice and very responsible, and Melissa is so easy to work with and provides the input necessary to make the finished effect breathtaking.
