Was able to see a doctor here on short notice even though she wasn't my PHP. Everyone I interacted with was very pleasant and professional (front desk; nurse; doctor; med student). I was even seen 10 minutes before my appointment time! The nurse in particular was truly hustling and was super efficient with everything she did.
I called to make my INITIAL appointment and update my insurance information. I was dispointed to learn that the Doctore I wished to visit would not have an opening until summer (monthssss from now) and my second choice was NOT accepting new patients. However, I made an appointment with the doctor that was accepting new patients AND was able to see me in January.Having said that, Mariah was patient and helpful in setting up my current insurance information and answered my questions about the initial visit.
The doctor I saw was a well regarded Obygyn. I had a Pap smear and a couple blood tests. I have Medicare and supplemental Medicare insurance. The bill was $985. Medicare covered $121. I’m left with a bill for $864 for a simple office visit….that I waited six months for. I have asked the bill to be reviewed with no luck so far.I’m not sure if this is simple robbery or just indicative of how broken our healthcare system is.To follow up, after four phone calls and apparently three reviews, my balance was reduced to $0. So I will up my star rating to three stars as this horrendous charge shouldn’t have happened to begin with. But I am thankful it was resolved.
