“We are very happy to be apart of the Santa Barbara School of music. Thank you Erin and Julie!“
“I was a student many years ago, and played piano for 8 years, culminating with being able to play Beethoven's third movement of the Moonlight Sonata. Some of the things that piano really benefits is structure, pattern, connection, coordination. This is both a skill and a beautiful hobby that can be pursued at any age. For the young, it helps develop their mind and make important connections which adds to their learning capacity for other subjects, skills, and professional development. It is also a gentle enough hobby and brain stimulator for those who are in the later stages of life. All around, very educated and professional instructor. A bonus is yearly recitals where students not only practice performing, but gain confidence by practicing their composure in front of others.“
“I loved my lessons at Southern California Piano Academy . My teacher, Emmanuel is a very accomplished musician who arranges for orchestras, and I felt privileged to be taught by him . The lessons were taught in " bite size" pieces and I was never overwhelmed . In a matter of a few months I was competently reading music, and learning how to play my favorites such as Billy Joel. I am in my 70s so I started off concerned about my ability to undertake such a new endeavor No worries, it was really easy and a very fun activity . I'll continue to play piano now that I have the basics under my belt . It's my pleasure to recommend Emmanuel to others who wish to learn piano!“
“Excellent teacher on all fronts! She is currently teaching my two oldest sons the violin. (we started with her from day one) She is patient and encouraging, while simultaneously maintaining quality of learning and admirable expectations. We love Mrs. Sommermann!“
