Bateman Physical Therapy Physical Therapy

“I very highly recommend James Bateman to anyone, of any age, who finds themselves in need of help with healing and/or recovery. My first contact with James followed a fall that broke bones on both sides of my body and sent me to a skilled nursing facility for a time. He initially came to my home for a number of weeks. He listened carefully, asked questions and decided where to begin a treatment journey at a time when life was pretty limited for me. Inadequate strength and fear of falling again disrupted daily routines of bathing, eating, getting in/out of chairs, leaving a home with stairs, then driving and shopping----it seemed like a nightmare that wasn't going to be quick or easy to wake up from. What I found in James was a man who understood what the experience of helplessness does to an otherwise healthy human like me when it comes unexpectedly. He knows how to intuitively and most skillfully provide a steady, available energy source til the lights come back online for his patients. As with any experienced healer, James holds a strong, clear confidence for recovery that his patients may not be able to hold for themselves after a life-changing injury. Joyfully, the body and bones heal, as they did with me, and confidence that James held for a time became a shared confidence. Healing could become strength and strength could be learned and loved and kept as a reminder. I continue to work with James individually and also as a member of his Senior Strong class. If you'd like to see an old lady lifting dead weights, make an appointment and stop by. It's a kick in the pants you'd enjoy!!!!!!!!“

“I recently saw Melinda as my physiotherapist for pelvic pain which is ongoing for 1.5 years, She is a patient listener and heard about my background story, she tried delving into the root cause and possibility of nerve involvement as probable cause of muscles tightening. I am happy with the internal work, exercises recommended and also discovered the usage of pelvic wand. Thanks Melinda for all the pointing the tools in the pain management. I hope to continue them for full recovery.“

“I would never claim that any physical therapist is a miracle worker, but Kevin is basically that. Kevin has been able to work with my pain in a way that no doctor or physical therapist has ever even come close to. With unexplained and excruciating pain for the majority of my life, I only got diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few years ago. Prior to my diagnosis, I had been to 10 or 15 different physical therapists over my lifetime, desperate to find any fix for the debilitating pain I was always in. I could barely walk and it was hard to sleep because of the nerve pain. Most physical therapists didn't know what to do with me. They did not understand why I was so sensitive to sensations and why I was in so much pain when I seemed to be in good health. Doctors and physical therapists have always been unwilling to put in the effort to find something that actually helps me. Well, Kevin is the outlier. He looks at the body holistically and encourages you to tell him your story from your point of view. Though knowing my diagnosis has been helpful to Kevin, I know that even if he wasn't aware of it, he would still be a valuable practitioner for me and know how to address it. He is knowledgeable and sympathetic about the issues, And gives me the right information to be able to work with my pain. Nobody understands fibromyalgia syndrome like Kevin does. He has seen it all in the world of pain and pain management, and he himself has suffered from chronic pain as well. So he has experience and ability to empathize that most doctors and physical therapists cannot even begin to get. I know he's worked with a large variety of clients who all have one thing in common: they have some difficult-to-treat pain. He can work with people experiencing pain after surgery, fibromyalgia, cancer pain, sciatica, musculoskeletal issues, or something smaller like a tweaked muscle. If you have it, he has probably seen it, and he can empathize with you. He meets you where you are, and gives you tools to help you succeed in your own healing journey. Working with Kevin is literally the only thing that has ever helped me. No medication or Dr. consultation with a specialist has ever brought me as far as Kevin has. If you are a person struggling with pain of any kind in your life I strongly recommend Kevin to you. I want to end this review by stressing again, that he is literally the only person who has ever helped me, and I have probably spent tens of thousands of dollars on specialists in my lifetime. Yes Kevin's service is pricey, but that's because it's uniquely tailored for your pain experience.“

“I had a mountain bike accident years ago, and believed chiropractic care was the best course for my physical health despite still suffering from regular pain. Thankfully, my chiropractor referred me to Clayton Francis for an evaluation to see if Clayton could help me. I've been seeing Clayton now for almost three years and feel better than I have in many years. He explained to me why I still had the pain from the bike accident, and gave me exercises to help develop the surrounding muscles. Clayton explained to me why my back hurt (I was wearing bad shoes), he showed me how to take care of my feet so exercise would be more beneficial, and he's taught me many more things that are invaluable. When I first saw Clayton 3 years ago, I was severely stressed (loss of job, death of a parent after years of caregiving) and in a great deal of pain just about everywhere. At that point, I needed to see him weekly or every other week to get stabilized. Now, I only see him once a month. If you need help finding out how a mystery pain originated, and how to fix it, see Clayton. If you have chronic pain from an old injury like me, go see Clayton. He's truly a magician!“

“I've been a patient of Dr. Bell's for many years. He has only recommended surgery one time and it was a minor procedure. Apart from that, he suggests PT or ice/heat and rest. He has treated my husband for various knee issues and he never suggested surgery. A friend had a shoulder fixed by Dr. Bell and she is quite happy. IMO, a good surgeon is one who thinks of surgery as a last resort. He's friendly, approachable, relatable and an excellent diagnostician. The staff has always been very compassionate and warm. IThey are so helpful and kind. When my shoulder became a daily problem I didn't think twice before calling Dr. Bell. Dr. Bell is the real deal. He is friendly and sincere and just wants to see his patients thrive.“

“Dr. Mohamed was extremely informative. This is my first time coming to a chiropractor. He made me feel completely safe and comfortable. Very wide range of knowledge. Ironically, I live right behind his practice so I will be going every week to get adjusted. That being said, the prices are extremely fair. I def did not feel like I was being duped. He is great for the community and I’m glad that he is my neighbor! I highly recommend.“

“I have been getting work done by Derick for going on 10 years. As someone who has over 25 years in the physical therapist industry and being a Sports massage specialists I would say he is one of the best in the Bay Area. From shoulder pain to sciatica he has helped get me back feeling great. He has also worked on my son who played quarterback for many years. Anytime my sons shoulder would be hurting, Derick would get him pain free. If you want help with injuries or pain relief I don't know of anyone better. He is an athlete himself so he gets the struggle of being in pain. Also probably the best prices you will find!“

“I saw that Kinetic Chain had a space within SPS. So, I called Jay on Thursday and scheduled a 30-minute appointment for Saturday afternoon, just like that! Boom! I'm pretty active, lift often and heavy. But, over the past couple of months I've had pain in my right shoulder. The pain was so excruciating that I had to put down the barbell for a couple of weeks. I couldn't even complete high pulls with a 16k KB and needed help putting on a t-shirt. Thankfully, Jay helped me out. He really went deep into my back/shoulder. Was it deep/painful? Just a little bit (sniff sniff LOL). Afterwards the tightness in my shoulder was reduced. Jay also gave me some exercises to do until my next session. I only had the one session. Very happy with the results. After a few more sessions, I'm sure I'll be back in action.“

“On Monday, 3/9/15, I decided to go see Dr. Burt at Burt Chiropractic Rehabilitation Center. This was the first time I've ever been to or even considered seeing a chiropracter.I sustained a back injury while lifting weights back in July, 2014. It took about 10 to 12 weeks for my lower back to start feeling normal again. About a week ago my back totally locked up on me while I was working out at the gym. Maybe dead lifting over 300 pounds the day before had something to do with it but I honestly think my lower back never healed properly the first time I injured it. It felt as if something was out of line. When my back locked up I almost fell to the ground. I was in so much pain. This lower back injury was worse than my first back injury.Dr. Burt was able to see and treat me the same day I called to schedule an appointment. Dr. Burt examined me and explained what was wrong with my back. He said I was dealing with more of a mechanical issue and the pain I was experiencing was caused by one of my pelvic bones being longer than the other which was causing unwanted pressure and tension on my lumbar spine. I already knew I strained/pulled a muscle in my lower back but I figured it had more to do with my actual spine. Dr. Burt told me the wear and tare of lifting weights for the last 15 plus years has finally caught up to me. He said I was due for an adjustment.I saw Dr. Burt for a total of 3 days, Monday, Wednesday, & Friday. Each time I was adjusted I felt better and better. My back continue to heal each day. The pain was excruciating a week ago and now the pain is literally gone. I know a strained/pulled muscle is going to take anywhere from 4 to 12 weeks to heal completely but I now feel like the root cause is taken care of and my spine is back in place. After each adjustment I underwent a deep tissue massage by Gail who is the message therapist. She did a great job every time she massaged my back. She knows how to work out all the kinks and speed up the healing process if you have a lower back injury. Gail knows how to really dig deep into the muscle.I will continue to see Dr. Burt on a monthly basis to get adjusted for my overall spine health. I would definitely recommend Dr. Burt if you're experiencing any type of pain or if you feel like something just isn't right. Don't hesitate and schedule an appointment with Dr. Burt. He'll definitely help speed up the healing process and relieve any type of pain or discomfort at a rapid rate. Thanks Dr. Burt for your services and allowing me to have a speedy recovery!“

“I've been working with Jenny for more than a year; I initially came to her for some strengthening while I recovered from a torn pelvic ligament injury (from childbirth). The team at Ide-Don PT is super knowledgeable and skilled at what they do. Now that I'm pretty much recovered, my focus with Jenny has shifted to being as strong as possible so I can keep up with my three kiddos. I love my sessions with her, she's super friendly and flexible if I feel I need a week that's a bit more restorative in exercises (vs killing me in a puddle of sweat, which she's definitely capable of as well).“

“I rarely write online reviews, but I felt the need to write this review. In June I had an episode where I went to visit a Chiropractor for an acid reflux issue (foolish of me) for just a consultation and the lady who was a substitute literally broke my back, in the name of just examining. I was in so much pain in my lower back, thighs and gluteal muscles that I could barely walk. My doctor suggested I go to physical therapy, after two unsuccessful attempts, I came across Shalaka's website and called her immediately. My first session, I saw relief, by 5th session I was walking pain free. She used ultrasound therapy that started healing my tightened muscles in the pelvic and gluteal area. Shalaka was patient and listened to my concerns, the main thing she pointed out was how I was still in shock and trauma from that event and discussed in great detail how I have to overcome it. She used manual therapy to ease my muscles too and that really helped me. I am glad I found her and I highly recommend her to women who have pelvic issues, issues with tailbone, gluteal muscles, as well as lower back and back issues.“
